PURPOSE: To perform highly reliable transformation by inspecting an LAPB frame for an address field and, when the response or command pattern in the address field is not coincident, invalidating the frame.
CONSTITUTION: An LAPB frame is received by means of a control mechanism 28 through a bus 22. The mechanism 28 directly transmits the LAPB frame through an ISDN LAPB channel which does not require format conversion, but delivers the frame through a converter 30 and multiplexer 32 when the mechanism 28 transmits the frame through an ISDN LAPD channel. After passing through the multiplexer 32, an LAPD frame is processed by means of an HDLC chip before transmission in order to add flag field and CRC inspections to the frame. The converter 30 receives all frames and information designating the numbers of bytes in the frames from the mechanism 28 for transmission. Similarly, data are first received at a terminal as a bit stream from a transmission line, but a frame is assembled by means of a lower-order ISDN layer before the data arrive at the converter 30.

PURPOSE: To process various multiplex format data by deciding the data timing of data multiplexing and that of data separation in respective channels to be multiplexed based upon timing data.
CONSTITUTION: A data separating/multiplexing circuit reads out timing data with length specified by a leading address informed from a CPU from a ROM 6 in each frame and successively arranges transmission data TDs, TDv, TDd, TDe on the prescribed bit positions of frame data based upon the read timing data synchronously with a reference clock CKa and octet clocks SO1, SO2 to form transmission data TD1, TD2. The transmission data TD1, TD2 are outputted to a layer-1 signal processing part 1. Consequently, this system can correspond to plural multiplex formats only by one hardware.

An improved Packet Assembler/Disassembler (PAD) (200) optimizes the assembling of characters into packets for transmission over a packet network (150). The PAD is arranged to operably connect to and receive character asynchronous data from one or more terminal instruments (600) operating in either a block transfer mode or an echoplexing mode. Characters received by the PAD from a terminal instrument operating in an echoplexing mode are forwarded with no PAD delay. Characters received by the PAD from a terminal instrument operating in a block transfer mode are similarly forwarded with no PAD delay and in full packets with the exception of the last few characters of each block of characters which only partially fill their respective packets. And these partially filled packets are quickly forwarded in a time period which just exceeds the period required for the reception of a single character at the rate of data reception from the terminal instrument. |

PURPOSE:To realize a voice mail box function which has high secrecy by adding a dummy incoming subaddress, which is generated on a receiving side at the time of a 1st incoming call, on both the calling side an receiving side thereafter and performing operation processing. CONSTITUTION:A mail device 2 which receives a call setting message from a network knows an incoming call for a data communication. Then a control part 212 retrieves an incoming subaddress information element group in the call setting message. When no incoming subaddress is detected, the control part 212 generates a dummy subaddress corresponding to a message, sent from the calling side thereafter, by a dummy subaddress random generator 212i and sends an answer message having necessary contents to the calling side. On the receiving side, on the other hand, a message which is sent back under the control of the control part 212 begins to be detected and is recorded and stored in an area corresponding to the dummy incoming address. Consequently, a voice mail box system which is superior in the secrecy of a mail function is realized. |

PURPOSE: To attain efficient data transmission by negotiating a number of information channels available simultaneously with an opposite terminal equipment and using information channels of a number secured as a result so as to implement data transmission.
CONSTITUTION: A caller terminal equipment sets a data 01H representing 'invitation' as a B-channel setting request information BID to a 'user/user' information element and sets 2 (=2 channels) as request channel number information BNU in a setup message SETUP (1) to an ISDN. When a called terminal equipment is able to use two information channels, the called terminal equipment sets a data 02H representing 'acceptance' as the B-channel setting request information BID to the 'user/user' information element in a reply message CONN(1) to the ISDN. Since a picture information file is sent in 128kbps by using two B-channels in this way, the communication time is considerably reduced.

PURPOSE: To efficiently assemble asynchronous data by connecting an information packet including one of the discriminated number of groups to a communication medium in the case that a prescribed time elapsed after reception of one of the discriminatable number of groups before reception of the discriminatable number of groups from an asynchronous signal source.
CONSTITUTION: A 'minimum' timer is given by a processor 210 so as to correctly operate a process, and the time when data should be made into a packet in a packet buffer memory 320 is correctly determined. A timer 330 is counted down up to 0 of expiration after being set to a selectable initial start value; and when the timer 330 reaches 0, it is given to the processor 210. The processor 330 quickly recognizes a break of reception of data from a terminal equipment and sends data stored in the packet buffer memory 320 at this time. Thus, the remote terminal equipment can approve reception of a data block more quickly.

PURPOSE: To make it possible to simultaneously function at least three sound terminals by connecting a service integrating digital netowrk reference rate interface among plural sound or data terminals at the time of mutually connecting these terminals by a switch means.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of setting up a call by the use of one of plural terminals, a key on the terminal 25 is depressed, a handset is hooked off to an offhook state to allow the use of a switch module 30 in a center station. Then the capacitor of a beaer, a required channel, a call reference value, and a message indicating whether the call is for voice or data are sent from the terminal 25 and all the information is transmitted to a switch module processor 52 through a service integrating circuit unit 36 and a packet switch unit 40. The center station requests an access to a data bank in the processor 52 and one of plural available channels in a reference rate interface two-wire loop 31 which are stored in the bank is allocated to the access.

PURPOSE: To realize line switching type extension communication function that cast a burden on a network by adding a function that connects B1, B2 channels on a private passive bus and returns on the bus in a terminal equipment of a network.
CONSTITUTION: An extension communication control section ICC 71 in an advanced terminal function section HTF 70 sets (x) bit 521 to logic 0 at the time of line switching type extension communication request, and sets to logic 1 in other cases. While (x) bit 521 from private terminals TE 21∼28 is logic 1, a B channel switch BSW 61 in a network terminal device 11 connects B1, B2 channels on a private bus PB 12 and B1, B2 channels on a subscriber's line 14 respectively. On the other hand, when bit 521 becomes logic 0, and while (x) bit from a multiframe control circuit MFC 62 is logic 0, the BSW returns and connects B1 channel and B2 channel on the PB 12 as shown by internal dashed lines. Thus, TE 21 and TE 28 are enabled to make line switching type extension communication using B1 channel and B2 channel respectively.

A method apparatus for selectively passing various types of telephony information between a data communications port on a digital telephone and a computer run application program. In one embodiment, the application program can select a subset of telephony events by way of a telephony command to the telephone's data communication port. This command is processed by a telephony command processor within the data communications controller which, in turn, sets a programmable event mask within the telephone. In response to the event mask being set, only the selected telephony events are spontaneously reported to the host computer and application program. |
