PURPOSE: To output a specific incoming tone by providing a sub-address discrimination means and an incoming tone output means outputting an incoming tone recorded in an incoming tone registration means in response to the sub-address.
CONSTITUTION: The sub-address subject to key input is saved in a memory 34 and a voice input from a handset 36 is converted into a digital data via a CODEC section 35 and registered in the memory 34 corresponding to the sub-address. When a call takes place, the sub-address is discriminated from a sub-address field in an incoming signal, an MPU 31 retrieves voice information registered in the memory 34 and the voice information corresponding to the sub-address in the registered voice information is given to the CODEC section 35 to energize a speaker 37. Thus, since a ring tone by a number corresponding to plural sub-addresses can be set, the overhead due to a change in talkers in the charging state is avoided so as to reduce the communication cost.

PURPOSE: To execute mutual communication without remodeling a G3 facsimile by converting a procedure signal and a picture signal from the G3 facsimile to digital signals, transmitting them through integrated service digital network (ISDN), and converting the procedure signal and the picture signal of the G3 facsimile, which have been received, to analog signals.
CONSTITUTION: A signal sent out of a G3 facsimile 3 connected to a terminal adaptor 2 through a line connecting terminal is received, converted to a calling procedure to an ISDN, its calling state is informed to the G3 facsimile, and also, a procedure signal and a picture signal from the G3 facsimile are converted to digital signals, and its digital signals is transmitted through the ISDN. In this state, when there is an incoming from the ISDN, the incoming is informed to the G3 facsimile 3, and the procedure signal and the picture signal of the G3 facsimile, which have been received from the ISDN are converted to analog signals. In such a way, the G3 facsimile is connected to the ISDN without remodeling it, and the mutual communication can be executed.

A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving multiple telephone transmission signals over a single twisted pair. An analog signal from a local switching station is converted to an 80 kbits/sec signal for transmission over a twisted pair. A remote terminal converts the 80 kbits/sec signal back into a conventional analog signal for use in conventional telephone, facsimile or other related equipment. |

A data terminal interface for a terminal adapter and an attached computer provides complete flexibility and control of information in a communication environment for a user. Communications between the terminal adapter and a digital network may be provided in existing digital systems, such as either the Digital Communications Protocol or Integrated Services Digital Network system, for example. The data terminal interface facilitates the exchange of information between the terminal adapter and the computer via an asynchronous data module in the terminal adapter. Through the data terminal interface, the computer is able to directly control user interface circuitry in the terminal adapter by responding to and sending unlimited information to this interface circuitry since conformance to a digital protocol is not required for message traffic between these two units. Also the data terminal interface permits all functions that a user is able to perform at the terminal adapter, such as going off-hook, pressing a button, etc., to be performed by the computer and provided to the network. Specific applications such as call screening, custom alerting and automatic call distribution are easily achieved through use of the data terminal interface. |

A communication terminal apparatus is used in a network system in which a sub address is affixed to a subscriber apparatuses from each other. A proper incoming call indicating tone is registered beforehand in correspondence with a sub address, and an incoming call indicating tone which has been registered in accordance with the sub address is output when a terminating call is received. In consequence, a called terminal can be discriminated by the incoming call indicating tone. Further, a desired incoming call terminating tone can be heard. |

This invention relates to a telephone apparatus and a method of controlling the telephone apparatus, wherein, where a calling operation conflicts with a call-receiving operation, calling processing and call-receiving processing are performed so that an intention of an operator at a calling side may be respected. A timer is caused to start to operate in response to an incoming signal detected by an incoming signal detecting unit. Where an off-hook operation is detected by an off-hook detecting unit before the expiration of a timer time set at the timer, a line control unit treats the off-hook operation as an off-hook operation for a calling operation. Where an off-hook operation is detected by the off-hook detecting unit after the expiration of the timer time, the line control unit treats the off-hook operation as an off-hook operation for a call-receiving operation. |

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone call exchange system capable of eliminating the need to set up a conversion table for a received number of a dial-in incoming call and reducing a time required for setup.SOLUTION: The telephone call exchange system includes a connection interface, a dial-in conversion table, a database, and a main control part. The connection interface connects a communication line and a plurality of extension telephones. The dial-in conversion table registers a received number in association with a number after conversion for a dial-in incoming call. The database has an extension number table which registers an extension telephone in association with its extension number. The main control part is connected to the connection interface and the database. When the dial-in incoming call comes from the communication line, the main control part retrieves an extension number matched with the received number from the extension number table. When there is an extension number matched with the received number, the main control part controls an extension telephone corresponding to the extension number to ring. |

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for informing an arriving caller of the fact that a user is busy in answering a call.
SOLUTION: The method for dealing with an arriving call from an arriving telephone set to a target telephone set which is busy in answering a call is provided. This method has a step 105 for generating a first signal to the target telephone set for informing the target telephone set of the arriving call, and a step 107 for generating a second signal to the arriving telephone set for informing the arriving telephone set that the target telephone set is already busy in the call. The method for dealing with the arriving call, which has a step for generating the first signal to the target telephone set for informing the target telephone set of the arriving call is provided, and a step for generating a ringing signal to the arriving telephone set for permitting the speaker of the arriving telephone set to supply ringing tone to an arriving caller.

PURPOSE: To enable independent call setting without being affected by the operation of a personal computer by receiving the provision of speech service of a communication network via an existent analog telephone set.
CONSTITUTION: A subscriber line repeater circuit SLIC 20 transmits a speech signal flown from the transmitting terminal TXD of a COMBOCODEC 10 into its receiving terminal RX to a telephone side via a tip terminal TIP/ring terminal RING in a normal operation. Then, the speech signal reaches the receiving terminal RXD of the COMBOCODEC 10 and a tone decoder 30 via the terminal TIP/RING. If the speech signal DTMF flown from the terminal TX of the SLIC 20 is detected, the decoder 30 sends out a tone detection signal to the interrupt terminal side of a coprocessor via an output line 65. On the other hand, the decoder 30 transmits tone data to a telephone number generated by decoding the DTMF signal to a control bus.

PURPOSE: To attain an outgoing/incoming call processing with fidelity to the will of a caller by applying call processing to off-hook operation before a timer expires and applying incoming call processing to the off-hook after the timer expires, thereby arbitrating collision of incoming/outgoing call.
CONSTITUTION: A timer means 5 started by an incoming call detection output of an incoming call detection means 3, an off-hook detection means 6, and a control means 4 commanding an outgoing call processing to the off-hook after timer of a timer means 5 expires and commanding an incoming call processing to the off-hook before timer of a timer means 5 expires are provided on the telephone set. The operation is processed as the off-hook for outgoing call in case of the off-hook before the timer expires and the operation is processed as the off-hook for incoming call in case of the off-hook after the timer expires. In this case, two channels are used in ISDN by one and plural communication terminal equipments are connected to one and the same line, then the incoming call signal is transferred to other communication terminal equipment. Thus, the outgoing/incoming call processing with fidelity to the will of a caller is realized.
