101 Connection cable apparatus EP01107932.4 2001-03-28 EP1139503A3 2003-07-09 Shimogama, Shigeru; Suzuki, Shiaki

A connection cable apparatus for protecting connection cable of robot is disclosed. This connection cable apparatus comprises a connection section of robot manipulator and connection cable, and a reinforcement plate. The reinforcement plate fixes the connection cable to the manipulator. This apparatus has an angle box disposed in the connection section, and is capable of varying the drawing direction of the connection cable. This apparatus includes plural wires, and a connection processing section to be connected to their terminals and a connector. In the connection processing section, of the plural wires, the length of the wires having a smaller sectional area is longer than the length of the wires having a larger sectional area. These wires are divided into groups, and effects of stress by bending of the connection cable are prevented.

105 Modular plug for high speed data transmission EP95118433.2 1995-11-23 EP0716477A2 1996-06-12 Freire Venegas,Ignacio; Duran Bofill,Pedro

Shielded modular plug (15) for category 5 applications comprises a plug housing (13) and a wire holder (10). The wire holder comprises a housing (20) with wire receiving cavities (22) extending therethrough, and a base wall extension (35) extending from the housing to a front end (36). The wire holder is assembled to the cable by inserting straightened wire ends into the cavities (22) of the holder and pulling the holder tightly against the twisted pairs of the cable. The wire ends (6) can then be trimmed with the front end (36) acting as the reference. The wire holder and cable ends are then inserted into the cavity (48) of the plug housing until a fully inserted position where the plug contacts (18) are positioned above the wire ends (6), and can be depressed for piercing through the insulation to contact the inner conductors. Due to tightening of the wire holder against the twisted pairs, the length of straightened cable is as short as possible thereby reducing crosstalk interference and enabling higher data transmission speeds. Furthermore, tightening of the wire holder against the twisted pairs ensures that connections are made in a reliable manner with less sensitivity to variations in the assembly procedure.

107 Système de connexion d'un tube cathodique et un circuit imprimé EP88907016.5 1988-07-28 EP0338031B1 1992-09-16 CASSAN, Daniel
The invention concerns a connector, such as a cathode ray tube support for a television set, designed to protect the contacts during storage, transport and handling. Figure 1 is a partial cross-section of one embodiment of the connector in the final production stage. The connector comprises a contact-holder housing (1) associated with a part (3) forming a sole-plate conformed with the overall shape of the housing. The sole-plate includes internal recesses (11) the number of which is equal to that of the output contacts (12), which protect and guide the latter. Application of pressure to the housing perpendicular to the printed circuit (4) causes the parts (1) and (3) to slide towards and past each other to the predetermined length of the output contacts. This result is achieved by co-operation of guiding means and ratchets integral respectively with the housing (5, 7, 8) and the sole-plate (9, 10, 10') with holes provided for this purpose in the printed circuit.

There is a seal in the form of an O-ring (10) at the blind end of the entry (7) to prevent moisture getting into the cable. The other end of the sleeve (2) from the body (6) is mechanically secured as by adhesive to the other surface of an outer sheath of the multi-core cable (9) at anchor (11). To re-enter connection, the termination (3) and component (4) are unscrewed and pulled apart in direction (x) so that the convulsions of the sleeve (2) bunch up. An embodiment is described in which a metallic screen is independent of end termination (3) and is not retracted when the termination is retracted, the screen having a ring which has complementary mating engagement with the end termination.
