PURPOSE: To shield alternating electric fields that may adversely affect human bodies by covering the lower part of a deflection coil device with a conductive layer connected to an earth and having resistance smaller a specific value, and inserting an insulating layer between the conductive layer and the deflection coil device. CONSTITUTION: Electron beam emitted from the electron guns 16,17,18 of a neck 15 are deflected by a deflection coil device 24 and are accelerated by application of a high voltage to a display screen 13 on the inner surface of a display window 12, so as to excite a phosphor screen into emission. Alternating electric fields leaking from the device 24 are shielded by a conductive layer 34 having a resistance value of not more than 10 3Ω per unit area and formed in the lower part of the device 24 via an insulating layer 33; i.e., the alternating electric fields emitted from the device 24 are converged to the resistance-lowered layer 34 and are earthed via a low resistance layer 27 electrically connected to the layer 34. Therefore, the alternating electric fields which pose the problem of adversely affecting human bodies can be completely shielded. COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio

PURPOSE: To prevent a high voltage charge of the external surface of a front part and make it possible to produce a cathode ray tube with high reliability at a low price by installing an electrode consisting of conductive material closely attached to the surface of an insulating film at the peripheral section of a panel and letting a charge escape as a current through a capacitor formed between the electrode and a transparent conductive film. CONSTITUTION: An electrode 4 to let a charge escape as a current is formed on a television panel only at the front of which a transparent conductive film (ITO film) 2 and a reflection preventing film (AR film) 3 are formed. It is unnecessary, therefore, to remove a part of the AR film 3 formed on ITO film 2 to arrange the electrode 4, so that an electrode forming process is very much simple. And if graphite with a small grain size is used as conductive material to be dispered in conductive paste when the electrode 4 is formed, this conductive fine grain enters a pin hole of the AR film 3 and a charge is once stored in a capacitor formed between the electrode 4 and the ITO film 2, but the charge is reduced lastly to zero because it is discharged. Thereby, it is possible to obtain a cathode ray tube which prevents the external surface of the front from being charged at a high voltage and can be produced with ease. COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio

PURPOSE: To improve the heat resistance and water resistance of an electric conducting layer by constituting the electric conducting layer with a conducting element and a binder containing a specific constituent. CONSTITUTION: A metal band 6 wound on the outer periphery of side well sections of an electrification preventing film 7 and a faceplate 5 is electrically connected by an electric conducting layer 8. This conducting layer 8 is made of a conducting oxidized layer constituted of a conducting element and a binder containing at least amorphous silicone oxide or silicone hydroxide. At least one metal element is selected among aluminum, copper, nickel, carbon, silver and gold for the conducting element. The conducting layer 8 contains amorphous silicone oxide or silicone hydroxide, thus it has excellent heat resistance and water resistance. A large quantity of conducting metal is added, and it has sufficiently small resistance. The waterproof film 7 and the band 6 can be surely connected with the conducting layer 8. PURPOSE:To prevent scattered electrons from adhering to a getter ring by preventing any decrease in the conductivity of an inner conductive film which might occur during heating of the getter ring by making a low-resistance inner conductive film in contact with the connector of the getter ring. CONSTITUTION:A cathode-ray tube of the soft flash type is assembled by connecting the anodic part 4 of an electron gun 3 and a getter spring 7 to which a getter ring 8 is attached through an insulator 9 and bringing the connector 11 of the getter ring 8 into contact with a high-resistance inner conductive film 10. Additionally, a low-resistance inner conductive film 14 which is minimally contaminated by a metal oxide and has a specific resistance of less than 1OMEGA-cm is formed on the film 10 so that the film 14 is in contact with the connector 11. Due to the above structure, there is no possibility that the conductive film 14 loses its conductivity due to rapid temperature increase occurring during heating the getter ring 8 using a high-frequency heating coil 13. Furthermore, it is possible to improve image quality by preventing the electrification of the getter ring 8 caused by scattered electrons.

PURPOSE:To prevent a drop of contrast in case of reverse display by applying low electron scattering-featured material on the surface except an image- displayed region on a fluorescent surface screen, out of metal packing layers in a monochrome cathode ray tube. CONSTITUTION:A neck part 1 including an electron gun 4, funnel part 2, front panel part 3, fluorescent screen 5, metal packing layer 6 formed by spattering aluminium on the inner side surface of the screen 5 and panel part 3 and on the inner surface of the funnel part 2, and aluminium film 6a are provided. On the surface of metal-film layers 6 and 6a, except an image-displayed region a, aqueous solution of graphite 8, in which amorphous silica of low electron scattering-featured material is added to form a monochrome cathode-ray tube. Hence, with the influence of scattering reflection electrons being lessened, an image with good contrast can be obtained even in case of a reverse display system.
