5 Device for generating high voltage pulse JP17345982 1982-10-02 JPS5963820A 1984-04-11 NISHIMURA SHINICHI
PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for the generation of a high voltage pulse by connecting a dynamic characteristic contact switch consisting of three functions of a micromechanism, an action mechanism and a conductive path, in series to a semiconductor switching element. CONSTITUTION:When voltage is applied between I/O terminals E1, E2, an expansion body 1 of the action mechanism A generates heat by itself suddenly. The expansion body 1 moves while being expanded and moves a hinge lever 3 along moving lines A, L. The hinge lever 3 opens a movable contact 5 and a semimovable contact 5' by a coil springs 6 and the micro mechanism, so that the hinge lever 3 moves to a position 3'. At the opening, an inductor L generates induction kick voltage. After passing prescribed time from opening, the hinge level 3 is moved to the original position by the contraction of the expansion body 1 and the movable contact 5 and the semimovable contact 5' are closed.

PURPOSE:To obtain a cheap flashing device with a simple structure by connecting an elongated drive element made of shape memory alloy and shape-memorized in the longitudinal direction, electrically and mechanically to a snap opening and closing mechanism for a movable contact so as to periodically open and close the movable contact. CONSTITUTION:When a movable contact SW1 in a turn indicator manipulating switch SW is turned from its neutral position so as to close, for example, a right turn indicating stationary contact SWR, a turn indicating lamp FR.RP is turned on. Current runs through a pin 1C, a stationary piece 5C, a drive element 5, a movable contact support member 4, a movable contact 3, a stationary contact 2 and a pin 1D in that order, and accordingly, the drive element 5 reduces its length to a value which is shape-memorized, due to its autogenous heat so that the upper end part of the movable contact support member 4 is pulled leftward and downward, resulting in deformation of the member 4. Then, a movable part 4D of the support member 4 in an arcuated condition is reversed from its convex shape into its concave shape, and accordingly, the movable contact 3 is separated from the stationary contact 2 so as to deenergize the flashing indicating lamp. Further, the drive element 5 is cooled down, and is returned into its original shape. Then, the movable contact 3 is again made into contact with the stationary contact 2, thereby the turn indicator FR.PR is turned on.

15 High-current, hot wire relay and flasher US3631370D 1969-10-01 US3631370A 1971-12-28 HOLLIS ARTHUR J
A monostable snap vane of a high-current flasher is held just beyond its snap point in an open contact position by an expansion ribbon fastened to opposite corners of the vane. Upon the passage of electric current through a resistance wire wrapped around the ribbon, the ribbon thermally expands, thereby permitting the vane to snap to a closed contact position and shorting out the current flow to the resistance wire. Cooling of the ribbon causes the vane to snap back to its open contact position.
