PURPOSE: To switch a high voltage DC power source with a compact structure by extinguishing an arc by forming the arc between a pair of fixed contactors in the case of separating bridge connection between a movable contactor and a pair of fixed contactors. CONSTITUTION: A power source terminal 14 is connected to the positive side of a high voltage power source, and a power source terminal 16 is connected to its negative side. A magnetic field crossing an arc chamber containing a fixed contactor 54 is pointed in the direction for proceeding forward from a space. An arc is formed between the fixed contactor 54 and a movable contactor 70d and between it and the other movable contactor 70d by separation. Arcs 120 and 122 tend to expand, and force imparted by the magnetic field moves the arc 120 toward a conductor 48 along an extending part 70e of a movable contactor 70. The arc 120 becomes long, and while its voltage is increased, the arc 122 also moves in the leftward direction by a bias of the magnetic field. An electric current passage extending up to the contactor 70 from a conductor 46 and up to the conductor 48 from the contactor 70 is extinguished here, and the arc 122 is similarly extinguished. Disclosed is an auxiliary contact block comprising a housing (5) which encloses at least one fixed auxiliary contact (300) that is accessible from outside the housing and an auxiliary sliding member (100) that supports at least one movable auxiliary contact (310). Said movable auxiliary contact (310) can be brought in contact with the fixed auxiliary contact in order to modify the state of the auxiliary contact. The auxiliary contact block can be mounted onto an electric contactor in such a way that the auxiliary sliding member (100) is driven by the main sliding member of the contactor. The auxiliary sliding member (100) comprises two parts, one of which leads while the other one is led. One of said parts supports a pin (112) while the other part is provided with a groove that forms a closed loop and cooperates with the pin such that the led part (120) is moved in one direction (F1) so as to successively and temporarily close and open the auxiliary contact when the leading part (110) is displaced in a first direction (F) by means of the main sliding member, said one direction (F1) extending essentially perpendicular to the first direction. When the leading part is then displaced in a direction (O) running counter to the first direction (F), said leading part does not modify the state of the movable auxiliary contact.
