2 MULTI-POLE DOME SWITCH US16006790 2018-06-12 US20180358191A1 2018-12-13 Trent Zimmer
Implementations of a multi-pole dome switch configured to simultaneously, or nearly simultaneously, close or open two separate circuits are provided. In some implementations, a multi-pole dome switch may comprise a tactile metal dome and a conductive insert that are separated by an insulator. In some implementations, when the dome is depressed, the dome and the conductive insert are configured to simultaneously, or nearly simultaneously, make conductive contact with two traces of a first circuit and two traces of a second circuit, respectively, positioned thereunder on a PCB. In this way, the multi-pole dome switch is able to simultaneously, or nearly simultaneously, close two separate circuits. Succinctly put, in some implementations, the multi-pole dome switch may be configured to act as a double-pole, double-throw switch.

4 Panel switch and method for making same US56105 1993-05-03 US5286937A 1994-02-15 Kouichi Santo; Nobuo Ogasawara
A panel switch for use in electronic apparatus and a method for making same, the panel switch employing a diaphragm whereby the operator turns on the switch with a feeling of security. To locate a diaphragm, a sheet having an adhesive layer on one side is used instead of a conventional spacer, and the diaphragm is secured to an insulated substrate with the sheet. The non-use of the spacer saves cost and labor, thereby producing panel switches more economically.

A cheaply constructed panel switch using a diaphragm which provides touch feeling when it is operated, the switch being used for the electronic devices. The switch does not use a spacer that had hitherto been used to determine the position of the diaphragm (14). Instead, the diaphragm (14) is adhered to the lower surface of a sheet (15) coated with adhesive, and the sheet is adhered onto the insulating substrate (12) to fasten the diaphragm (14). The spacer is no more used to facilitate the method of production, and a panel switch is cheaply obtained.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push-on type switch capable of obtaining a clear clicking sense by simple constitution. SOLUTION: Center part and end part contacts 20a and 20b are formed on a base plate 10. A tact metallic plate 30, having a dish-like part 30a capable of performing reversal action and bent so as to abut on the end part contact 20b at part of an outer peripheral edge, and protruded in a direction moving apart from the base plate 10, is arranged on the base plate 10. An insulating cover member 40 is fixed to the base plate 10 by adhesive so as to cover the tact metallic plate 30. A gap (g), for escaping air in a space formed between the tact metallic plate 30 and the base plate 10, is formed between the surface of the tact metallic plate 30 and the insulating cover member 40.
18 Panel switch and manufacture thereof JP28081188 1988-11-07 JPH02126524A 1990-05-15 MITO KOICHI; OGASAWARA NOBUO
PURPOSE:To obtain a panel switch at a low price by adhering a diaphragm to a sheet to the under surface of which an adhesive is applied so as to stick the sheet to an insulated substrate and fix the diaphragm. CONSTITUTION:The upper surface of a diaphragm 14 and an insulated substrate 12 are adhered by use of a sheet 15 on the under-surface of which a pressure sensitive adhesive layer is placed which is somewhat expandable so that the diaphragm 14 is mounted to the insulated substrate 12. A button 16 is held to a case 17, and provided corresponding to a diaphragm 14. When the button 16 is pushed from above, the diaphragm 14 is deformed through the sheet 15 to make a contact 11a conduct to a contact 11b with the result that the contact 1a is made to contact to the contact 11b through the diaphragm 14. Thereby, it is possible to remove a spacer and form an operating panel switch at a low price.
