22 Ergonomic snow plow control system US10956539 2004-10-01 US20050039968A1 2005-02-24 John Lashua
Ergonomic plow control system has a housing which can be mounted to a component in a cab of a vehicle; and a switch pad having control keys, the pad mounted in the housing such that the keys are readily accessible to an operator of the vehicle during plowing operation such as shifting and/or steering. A securing member, which may be in a form of a strap system, may be attached to the housing away from the pad and keys for mounting the housing to the cab component. The housing may have a channel or a cannulation for mounting to the cab component. The switch pad may include an arrangement for control of a straight plow and/or of a V-plow having a central element divided into a plurality of independently actuatable switches as for controlling orientation of the plow; and at least one laterally disposed switch set for controlling vertical adjustment of the plow. Another switch set as for controlling “on-off” of the plow may be provided. The housing may be resilient, making for increased comfort especially in long-term operation. Also, the control system can be wireless and remote.

24 Airbag module cover with attached horn switch and method of producing same US383972 1995-02-06 US5523532A 1996-06-04 F. Paul Leonelli; Wael S. Elqadah; Ronald A. Prescaro; Tae Y. Kwak
A plurality of spaced pairs of stakes are molded on the back of an airbag module cover. A horn switch assembly which is to be mounted on the back of the airbag module cover has a plurality of spaced pairs of openings along the perimeter thereof which are complementary to and are adapted to receive the spaced pairs of stakes on the cover. Subsequent to the positioning of the pairs of stakes in the complementary pairs of openings, the distal ends of the stake pairs are formed into a unitary bridge by heating. The bridge shaped heat staking thus employed thereby locks the horn switch on the back of the airbag module cover to prevent separation of the switch and cover on the deployment of the airbag and provide a much stronger attachment than standard methods of heat staking.
25 Key guide apparatus for electronic musical instrument US602591 1990-10-24 US5070218A 1991-12-03 Masanori Katsuta
A key guide apparatus for an electronic musical instrument, having a plurality of keyboard switches, such as an electronic organ. Keyboard switches utilizing a movable contact are contained in a flexible member and stationary contacts are disposed on a switch base plate which is attached to a lower surface of a keyboard frame in a cantilevered manner. An integrally formed key guide having a plurality of key guide pieces and a retaining member is attached to the keyboard frame such that the retaining member is in contact with the switch base plate to prevent the base plate from deflecting, which would result in time delay after depression of the keys.
26 Flexible diaphragm keypad and method of manufacture US683892 1984-12-20 US4609791A 1986-09-02 Jean-Pierre Abbat
A keypad is formed of a set of transparent buttons slidably located within apertures of a grid. The grid has sidewalls for engagement with the base of a printed circuit board. Switch assemblies are provided by conductive elastomeric domes formed of a single sheet of elastomeric material disposed between the printed circuit board and the buttons. Integrally formed within a concave side of each dome is a contact region driven by a displacement of a button towards the printed cirucit board. An insulating layer above strip conductors of the circuit board is perforated at sites of the switches to allow the contact region to touch the exposed portions of the conductors to complete an electrical circuit. A dome deforms with springiness which urges the dome back to its original shape upon release of a button by a user of the keypad. Manufacture of the keypad is facilitated by construction of a set of the butons on a webbing which maintains alignment of the buttons as they are secured to the respective domes. The webbing is later removed to permit insertion of the buttons into apertures of the grid.

A low profile switch or keypad has one or more touch pads (14) formed integrally with and raised from a surrounding membrane or key mat (15) of elastomeric material by a wall (30) of resiliently deformable material of thickness and angle relative to the mat (15) so that the wall (30) can flex under finger pressure on the or each pad (14) without deflecting the surrounding membrane. The underside of each pad (14) is formed with a convex contact pad (29) dimensioned in relation to the pad diameter and travel and the length of wall (30) so that the pad (29) makes surface to surface contact with conductors (12), (13) of an underlying circuit board (10). The mat (15) is held in tension to the board (10) by a peripheral lip (16) into which the board (10) fits. The keyboard uses only two interfitting parts and needs no bezel but provides a tactile response to key depression.

40 Unitized Appliance Control Panel Assembly and Components of the Assembly US13445575 2012-04-12 US20120241303A1 2012-09-27 Lee A. ROOSE; William M. MONSON; Michael P. RICKLEFS; Steven J. JOERGER
An electronics enclosure and associated components form a self-contained, unitized assembly including control buttons and illuminated indicator elements, that can be mated as a single piece with an outer user interface control panel fascia. A front panel of the electronics enclosure provides a mounting location for various buttons and lighted indicators that will show through mating apertures provided in the control panel fascia. This may include light pipe collars and integral spring levers. Specially configured cup structures may be integrally molded at the ends of the spring levers to provide electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. A mount of planar spring button pieces on the front enclosure panel, over the associated spring levers, results in an assembly incorporating two springs serving to bias the associated button to its return position, and eliminating any rattle or looseness of the parts.
