Flexibly configurable button panels for electronic devices and dynamic display systems for wager based gaming machines are disclosed. Button panels include a flexible cable, surface mount or other cable connectors spaced along and coupled thereto, and button assemblies coupled thereto via the cable connectors to provide electrical access from buttons to circuit lines. Relative physical locations of buttons are then reconfigurable to form different button panel configurations while the buttons remain coupled to the flexible cable. A dedicated dynamic button panel controller for processing button functions and a button panel identification device having an identification code can also be provided. Buttons can be removably coupled to the cable connectors, and can also include dynamic displays thereupon. Other gaming machine dynamic displays can also be provided. Separate dynamic display controllers can be provided to control dynamic displays directly to alleviate processing burdens on the master gaming controller.

When an operator applies a removing force which turns in the direction (C2) to a switch portion (b), a projection (a4) abuts against the slope (b71) of a guide (b7), so that the removing force is applied as a reaction from the projection (a4) to the slope (b71). This removing force is divided into two components, one extending along the slope (b71) and the other (F) having the same direction as the center axis (X); thus, it follows that the removing force is converted into the force (F) having the same direction as the center axis (X). This force (F) having the same direction as the center axis (X) moves a pushbutton support (b6) downward, and at the same time, a movable contact (b9) is pulled apart from a fixed contact (b12) through a contact axis (b5).

The invention relates to a switch to be mounted on a design element in the passenger room of a motor vehicle. Said switch comprises a haptic element that functions as the mechanical operational and visual element, electrical and/or electronic switch elements that are mounted on a flexible conductor element and optionally further electrical and electronic components. The switch is further characterized in that the zone (20) of the flexible conductor element (2, 2a, 2b) which carries the switch elements (21, 21', 22, 22', 23, 24, 24') and the allocated zone (operational element (11)) of the haptic element (1, 1', 1'') are configured such that the corresponding zones (11, 20) can be positioned and fixated in relation to one another and do not comprise means that establish a permanent electrical connection.

The invention concerns an electric switch with an activation element that is inserted and retained with limited axial adjustability in a pot-shaped receptacle formed on a control/display screen and that can be connected to a control component of a switch part that can be set to two positions by means of the activation element. If the invention provides that two axially-aligned snap springs are separated on the perimeter of the cap-shaped activation element that protrude over the peripheral contour of the activation element with snap flanges, that the snap springs can be snapped into axially-aligned snap notches of the pot-shaped receptacle on the control/display screen and have limited axial adjustability, that the receptacle provides a receiving cavity for the switch part, into which the switch part is introducible perpendicular to axial direction and localizable in the receptacle, and that when inserting the switch part into the receiving cavity, the control component of the switch part is introducible with a catch into a catch receptacle of the activation element and subsequently connectable with the activation element, then an electric switch with easily modifiable switching characteristics is constructed and incorporated into a control/display screen with little expenditure for parts and assembly. |

A button which is removable from and insertable into a keypad from the exterior of a housing containing the keypad. The button fits within an opening of the keypad and is formed with resilient fingers in its side walls. The fingers have interfering flanges at their lower ends. The flanges are chamfered to provide a camming action to deflect the fingers when the button is removed or inserted. |
