5 In-car-device controller EP00127482.8 2000-12-14 EP1109183A3 2003-04-02 Mitsuzuka, Katsuya, Alps Electric Co., Ltd.

An in-car-device controller permits a switch unit to be easily replaced. Switch units formed by control switches and keytops are installed to unit mounts. The types of the switch units are identified by the unit mounts by detecting the different shapes of switching driving portions formed at the distal ends of the keytops. The unit mounts are provided with detection switches for detecting the presence of the keytops. A control unit detects detection switch signals from the detection switches thereby to determine the presence of the key tops. If the control unit decides that any one of the keytops has been removed from the unit mounts, then the control unit turns OFF at least the control function associated with the removed keytop.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device in which a push button switch and a seesaw switch can exist together in an input device capable of changing the arrangement of a plurality of switches. SOLUTION: The input device comprises a plurality of detection switches 2 mounted on a substrate 1 and knobs corresponding to them, and the knob has a mixture of a seesaw knob 5 and a push button knob 6, and each set of the detection switches 2 has a plurality of drive pins 3 that can change independently switching of contact respectively in two regions on the substrate 1. The knob has a drive part 7 for operating a prescribed pin pattern simultaneously. The drive part 7 of the seesaw knob 5 operates selectively a pin pattern selected from drive pins 3 in one region and a pin pattern selected from drive pins in the other region. The drive part 7 of a push button knob 6 operates the pin pattern selected from drive pins 3 arranged in two regions. Each of two pin patterns that the seesaw knob 5 selectively operates and each pin pattern that the push button knob 6 operates are all made of different patterns. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
8 Keyboard with replaceable keys US12833349 2010-07-09 US08253047B2 2012-08-28 Man-Tian Liu
A keyboard includes a plurality of keys. Each key includes a base, a key cap detachably connected to the base and includes at least two conductors, a flexible element connected between the key cap and the base, and a plurality of conduct lines mounted on the base. The conduct lines are not contacting each other. One end of each conduct line is connected to a processing unit. Each conduct line is assigned a code. If the key cap of one key is pressed, the conductors of the key contacts the conduct lines, thereby creating an electrical connection between the two conduct lines, and generating an electrical signal. The processing unit determines the function of the key according to the codes of the connected conduct lines.

13 Vehicle equipment control device US86916 1998-05-29 US6163282A 2000-12-19 Katsuya Mitsuzuka; Ken Mizuta
Disclosed is a vehicle equipment control device capable of effecting discrimination between a plurality of switch functions without involving any change in the circuit configuration.A plurality of detection switches 2 each of which has three driving pins 4a through 4c are mounted on a printed circuit board 1, and a plurality of key tops 6a through 6g are slidably supported by a housing 3 in correspondence with the detection switches 2. Provided on the lower surfaces of the key tops 6a through 6g are driving sections 9a through 9g each capable of simultaneously depressing arbitrary one or a plurality of driving pins 4a through 4c of the corresponding detection switch 2. When the driving pins 4a through 4c are selectively depressed by these driving sections 9a through 9g, each detection switch 2 outputs a switch signal peculiar to it, and discrimination between the control functions set for the key tops 6a through 6g is effected on the control circuit unit side by using this switch signal as a recognition signal.
14 Programming switch assembly for communication terminals US674656 1984-11-23 US4647728A 1987-03-03 Laurence J. Retallack; Gerd Kuhfus
Programming of a communications terminal is carried out by insertable programming members carrying a plurality of actuators. Each actuator has at least one and usually two actuating members which engage with a circuit to modify the electrical characteristics of the circuit. The actuating members themselves may contact conductor paths, connecting them selectively to a ground conductor, or interconnecting two conductor paths. The actuating members may actuate indirectly through an intermediate member. Actuating members can be at predetermined different positions along an actuator. Typically one programming member is associated with a push-button, the programming member, for example having two columns of four actuators. On depressing the push-button, the particular coding is rapidly scanned by the electronic circuitry and the particular service associated with that code is provided.
