There is provided a push button switch using an elastic conductive sheet having a spherical protuberance which is adapted to be deformed by a keytop for electrically connecting fixed electrodes formed on a printed circuit board. Spring means for returning the keytop is not required, so that the construction is simplified. Also, excellent switching action, operability and reliability can be ensured.

A tactile switch plate for a keyboard comprises a non-conductive member sandwiched between a pair of conductors, the member having a planar body portion provided with a plurality of outwardly deformed carrier portions corresponding in number and spacing to the number and spacing of the keys of the keyboard. Each of the carrier portions is resiliently flexible for movement toward the plane of the body and each carrier portion carries a preferably elastomeric switching member that is adapted to bridge the conductors and establish an electrical circuit between the conductors. The plate and switching members preferably are produced by a molding process and the elastomeric switching members are cured by heat generated by an electrical current.

A keyboard switch device comprising rows and columns of intersecting wires conductors held taut and normally spaced slightly from each other by a separator sheet of non-conducting material having openings therein aligned with the intersections of at least certain of the conductors. The conductors are engaged by depressing different keys aligned with the conductor intersections and a relatively thick layer of soft elastomeric materialis interposed between the keys and conductors to normally hold the keys in raised position and to transmit pressure from the keys to engage the conductors. By merely changing the sizes, shapes and positions of the openings, the switching device can be made to produce different output coded signals. Also, by changing the configuration of the various rows and columns of conductors different switch matrix patterns can be produced.

A printed circuit keyboard having contacts thereon with leads from the contacts passing through the board and connected to conductors on the underside of the board. A ground plane in the form of a conductive sheet is positioned above the contacts and biased out of contact therefrom. This sheet could be Mylar plated with nickel. The Mylar sheet is positioned over an apertured member aligned with the contacts to provide the biasing. The Mylar is sufficiently taut so that only one contact can be positioned against the depressed Mylar sheet at one time. A cellophane or other member can be placed over the Mylar and aligned with the apertures to provide numeric indicators for the keyboard.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment having a connector capable of connecting a liquid crystal display with a print circuit at low cost.
SOLUTION: In order to establish an electric connection between a liquid crystal display 110 and a print circuit 120 of electronic equipment, an elastic material sheet 103 molding keys 104 of electronic equipment is used. Therefore, a tab 150 is formed on the elastic material sheet of equipment. This tab has connection wiring 155 on the back 152. When folding the tab toward a screen, the connection wiring touches a contact area 160 of an integrated circuit on one side and touches a contact area 140 of the display on the other side.

PURPOSE: To provide a keyboard with a key with brighter back light and the keyboard having longer light source life and thinner in thickness. CONSTITUTION: In a keyboard used in a small portable telephone set, in which each key has a back light, a partially semi-transparent upper cover layer made of a soft material contains a projecting key 12. An actuation layer 14 is arranged under the key 12, and pushed down with the key 12 during operation. A feedback layer having a clicking feeling, which contains a dome 32 for each key is arranged under the actuation layer 14, and in the dome 32, when the feedback layer is pressed to the previously set angle, the dome 32 is reversely turns, a conductor 44 positioned under the dome and a conducting figure 28 on a board to which the keyboard is fixed are short circuited. In the example, each key is illuminated from the back with a light source 40 extending through the board to which the keyboard is fixed. A layer for feeding back slicking feeling, when it is in a reversely turned state, decreases the pressure applied to the light source. |
