Both of the contact areas (9) are arranged on a common contact surface and the contact area makes it possible to bridge the intermediate area (11) between two neighbouring segments (7).

By means of the use of at least another parted flux turn, the balancing of the voltage differences at the ends of the numerous wires is assured anyway, and the arrangement is such that each wire of the collector has the same voltage difference with respect to each of the two contiguous wires.

The junction member C is formed in a sandwith constitution having a center electrode plate 10, end part electrode plates 9, 9' and therebetween carbon plates 11, 11'. Because of a contact potential characteristics of a contact plane between carbon and metal, a short-circuited current is made very small. With doing in this way, without a voltage loss, a large output current can be obtained.

A variable transformer comprising an annular core with a winding which at the end surface of the core is provided with a circular contact path to be connected with a current brush mounted on a rotor (7). If voltage induced in a winding 4 at the contact point of a brush 5a is assumed to be EA and voltage induced in the winding 4 at the contact point of a brush 5b is assumed to be EB, the voltage at the middle tap of a balancing coil 6, i.e., output voltage EO becomes (EA+EB)/2 since the ratio of winding number divided by the middle tap of the balancing coil 6 is 1:1. A circulating current due to the difference of the voltage EA and EB is also limited by the impedance of the balancing coil 6. The contact positions between the winding 4 and the brushes 5a and 5b are shifted by the rotation of a shaft 10 and the output voltage EO is set at a required value.
