When a processor receives inputs of plural notes (Nt1, Nt2, Nt3, Nt4), for instance from a keyboard, to be assigned for tone generation, according to a predetermined note determining musical rule called "assignment type" (harmony), the processor autonomously selects (S3), out of the received notes, one or more notes to be sounded in each of plural parts (Parts 1, 2, 3, 4). The processor controls (S4) a display unit (13) to display, for each of the plural parts, the selected plural notes to be assigned for tone generation. Non-selected notes in respective parts are displayed in one style, and the selected one or more notes in the respective parts are displayed in another style (S44).

131 Music and audio playback system EP07252784.9 2007-07-12 EP1879175B1 2016-08-17 Carrier, Chad M.
A music and audio playback system is implemented on a computer with a playback engine that enables the operator, typically a disk jockey, to apply a variety of effects. The system may store one or more snapshots, or a combination of settings for a plurality of controls that are applied by the playback engine. The settings that may be stored in a snapshot may be for effects, deck controls and/or mix settings. These snapshots allow for changes to settings for effects, mixing and playback to be made quickly, some of which would normally be difficult to perform. A sampler module permits a user to specify one or more samples that may be triggered for playback. The most frequently used samples may be designated as scratching files that may be quickly activated through the push of a button (or other control). A waveform display represents a window of audio samples around a current playback time. When two tracks are being played, only half of each waveform is shown. In particular, the bottom half of the waveform at the top, and the top half of the waveform at the bottom are shown. Certain effects that affect the playback of a current audio file, such as a reverse, repeat or brake effect, are performed as insert effects. As a result, the current play position in the current audio file continues to advance while the effect is performed, even thought the effect is applied to the audio data in the current audio file. The waveform display continues to update based on the continually updated current play position in the audio file.

137 Tone generating style notification control for wind instrument having mouthpiece section EP13172476.7 2011-09-27 EP2650870A1 2013-10-16 Hashimoto, Ryuji

Tone generating style notification control apparatus is provided for an electronic or natural musical instrument having a mouthpiece section operable with a human player's mouth. Detection is made of a physical amount caused by operation performed on the mouthpiece section with the mouth, and a tone pitch corresponding to the detected physical amount is identified by referencing a storage section storing information defining relationship between various values or ranges of the physical amount and tone pitches. Expected tone generating style is notified to the player on the basis of the identified tone pitch. As another example, a storage section contains a tone pitch table defining relationship between various ranges of the physical amount and tone pitches, and a gain table defining, as gain information, values corresponding to deviations of the physical amount from a predetermined reference point for each tone pitch and within the range of the physical amount corresponding to the tone pitch. For the detected physical amount, a tone pitch is identified by referencing the tone pitch table and gain information is identified by referencing the gain table, so that the identified tone pitch and gain information is notified.
