1 PROPORTIONAL ELECTROMAGNET ACTUATOR AND CONTROL SYSTEM EP05791346 2005-09-30 EP1812929A4 2017-05-10 BOUCHARD MATHIEU; BOIVIN STÉPHAN; CH NIER ANDRÉ; PELLETIER PIERRE
The invention provides an actuator for actuating a pallet of a pipe organ under the command of a key of an organ. The actuator comprises a movable member, adapted to be connected to the pallet of the organ pipe and a magnetic plunger, mounted on the movable member. It also comprises an electromagnet having a gap within which the magnetic plunger can be inserted and moved, wherein the electromagnet when energized moves the member to thereby actuate the pallet. A controller roller unit controls a current in the electromagnet to provide a controlled actuation of the pallet that is proportional to a key dip of the key. It also provide for a system based on a digital serial link for controlling an assembly of organ pallets that are actuated by electromagnets.

3 A system for controlling the movement of sliders in musical instruments with pipes and the like EP04011017.3 2004-05-10 EP1480197A3 2005-11-23 Ramondetti, Silvio, Eltec Automazioni S.n.c.; Galiasso, Giovanni, Eltec Automazioni S.n.c.

The system comprises:

  • an air-fed organ case (4) and comprising orifices (5) which communicate with a chamber underlying the musical pipes (3), whose foot is engaged in a hole provided in said chamber,
  • sliders (6) that control the flow of air through each orifice (5), while at least one slider (6) is actuated with the aid of a respective key (7),
  • first position sensor means (14), arranged to sense the travel of each key (7),
  • second position sensor means (12), arranged to sense the travel of each slider (6),
  • and electrical / electronic circuit means (25, 26, 27, 49), which establish a correspondence between the displacements of the first position sensor means (14) and those of the second position sensor means (12) and, with the intermediary operation of respective actuator means (11) move at least a corresponding slider (6). According to the invention, said actuator means (11; 68) comprise a movable member (21, 23) which is driven to perform reciprocating movements proportionately to the movements of the respective key (7) and controls, directly and in correspondingly proportional fashion, the movement of at least a respective slider (6) both in its opening travel and in the closing travel with respect to the corresponding orifice (5).

10 Electromagnetically operated valve US68792 1993-06-01 US5370029A 1994-12-06 Justin Kramer
An electromagnetically operated valve assembly having a valve closure means attached to a vertically suspended armature supported at its top portion, is held in magnetic fields at both the top and bottom portions of the armature, caused by permanent magnets reacting to iron or other permanent magnets. The movement of the armature is guided to insure close alignment and to eliminate side play by means of a main frame assembly mounted in a pipe organ wind chest so as to control air under pressure from the wind chest into at least one pipe organ. The permanent magnet at the bottom portion of the armature cooperates with an iron core of a solenoid mounted to the main frame assembly, to close or open the valve. The valve may also be provided with a second solenoid to both assist moving the valve to the open position, and to aid in holding the valve in the open position.
11 Chest valve for pipe organs US3795170D 1972-12-29 US3795170A 1974-03-05 KLANN P
The outlet opening of the air chest is provided with a sleeve for supporting the organ pipe externally of the chest and which acts as a valve seat for the flexible resilient diaphragm of the chest valve. The diaphragm forms one wall of an auxiliary chamber located beneath the sleeve. An electro-magnetic valve controls the communication of the auxiliary chamber to the atmosphere or the air under pressure in the chest. When the auxiliary chamber is in communication with the interior of the air chest the pressures on opposite sides of the diaphragm are equalized around the sleeve and the pressure differential between the atmospheric pressure in the sleeve and the air under pressure in the auxiliary chamber maintains the diaphragm in sealing engagement with the sleeve. When the auxiliary chamber is in communication with the atmosphere, the pressure differential acting on the diaphragm will move the diaphragm away from the sleeve allowing air under pressure to escape from the chest through the sleeve to the pipe of the organ. The chest valve is preferably mounted on the underside of the air chest externally thereof with the diaphragm exposed to the interior of the chest for cooperation with the sleeve.
