PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counting and feeding device for small articles capable of efficiently and accurately counting and feeding by a comparatively simple structure even when counting and feeding tablets or the like in units of tens. SOLUTION: This counting and feeding device for small articles is characterized by that it is composed so as to intermittently feed a plurality of tablets at a time to an outer circumferential face of a conveyance drum 1 by a feeding means 2, suck and hold the tablets in the outer circumferential face of the conveyance drum 1, convey the tablets by forming a plurality of rows of the tablets aligned along a circumferential direction of the drum in the outer circumferential face of the conveyance drum 1, respectively input one tablet from the rows at predetermined conveyance positions into a temporary storing means, and by repeating this action a predetermined number of times, count the tablets in units of a row number, store a predetermined number of the tablets in the temporary storing means, and feed the tablets to containers or a packaging mechanism part. |

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a container accurately by providing a pair of optical proximity sensors, and an electronic circuit means for neglecting dither of container on a conveyor.
SOLUTION: An endless belt 16 is carried by means of a supporting member 18 and driven through a motor to convey a container 12 in the linear direction through a detecting station fixed with an apparatus 10. A pair of optical proximity sensors 28, 30 are fixed in a housing 20 under adjustable state. These sensors 28, 30 radiate diffusion energy toward the container 12 being conveyed on a conveyor 14 and the diffusion energy is returned back to the sensors 28, 30 from an adjacent surface of container 12 when the container 12 is located oppositely to the sensors 28, 30. The sensors 28, 30 are directed such that the beams therefrom advance in parallel with each other and directed perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of conveyor 14.

A directional object counter uses two or more light sources to generate pulses of light, which travel on two light paths across a passageway. Light from both sources illuminates two sensors, after the light has traversed the passageway, and a processor connected to the sensors determines, based on the pulsed nature of the sources, which source(s) is/are illuminating which sensor(s), and counts movement of objects through the light paths in an identified direction. The pulsed nature of the light permits low-power operation of the directional object counter with a battery. Furthermore, the independence of the pulse discrimination from the pulse generation, enables the light sources and light sensors to be positioned on opposite sides of a passageway without wiring connecting them across the passageway. |
