61 Foldable eyewear with mechanism facilitating quick opening US09469089 1999-12-21 US06375323B1 2002-04-23 Thomas Yang
Eyewear which comprises a frame front and a first and second hinge coupled to the frame front. A first and second temple are pivotably coupled to the frame front through the first and second hinge respectively. The first and second temples are movable between a closed position and a use position. The first and second hinges bias the first and second temples toward the use position. At least a first catch is disposed on the eyewear. The catch is operable to retain the temples in the closed position in opposition to the biasing of the first and second hinges.

75 COMPACT FOLDING ARCHITECTURE FOR HEAD MOUNTED DEVICE EP15831805 2015-08-12 EP3180649A4 2018-03-21 CAZALET PETER MICHAEL
An example of a hinge mechanism for a head mounted device is provided. Aspects of the disclosure relate generally to folding the head mounted device in a secure fashion for convenient storage and transportation. The head mounted device may have an asymmetrical shape with an enlarged and elongated first side arm. In this regard, the hinge mechanism allows the head mounted device to fold at an angle so as not to interfere with a second side arm of the head mounted device. The head mounted device may also implement a flexguard component configured to bend along with the hinge structure so as to protect internal components that become exposed due to the folding of the hinge. An axial cam system is also implemented to allow for the secure and comfortable folding and opening of the head mounted device.

77 SPECTACLE FRAME EP13874324.0 2013-02-05 EP2955565A1 2015-12-16 KANATANI Hideyuki

A spectacle frame includes a front portion (1) configured to hold lenses (4a, 4b) and temples (2a, 2b) on both sides of the front portion 1, ring joint portions (3a, 3b) having a torsion coil spring shape are formed of a wire extending continuously from the front portion (1), a wire is further extended from the ring joint portions (3a, 3b) to form the temples (2a, 2b), whereby a joint portions is formed without using a screw, so that stable wearing is ensured in the case of being worn on the face. Simultaneously, locking strips (10a, 10b) configured to be locked with a coil portion of the ring joint portion (3a, 3b) at distal ends of resin-made tips (7a, 7b) fitted by insertion on distal end portions of the temples (2a, 2b) are provided, so that the distal end portions of the temples can be locked reliably with a portion in the vicinity of the joint portions.

[Problem to be Solved]

To provide a pivot structure of eyeglasses that is reduced as little as possible in pivotal resistance even for long-term use, and eyeglasses provided with the pivot structure thereof.

[Solution]

The pivot structure in eyeglasses includes a first base member 1, a second base member 2, and a pillar member 3 interposed between the first base member 1 and the second base member 2, and a twisting action of the pillar member 3 makes the second base member 2 capable of pivoting on the first base member 1. Further, in the pivot structure, the pillar member 3 and the first base member 1 are fixed by a first fixed portion 4, the pillar member 3 and the second base member 2 are fixed by a second fixed portion 5, and a certain distance in the direction of the pillar axis is placed between the first fixed portion 4 and the second fixed portion 5.
