The invention relates to an elastic hinge (40) for a spectacles frame, comprising two hinge elements (50, 60) rotatably mounted around a pivot (45), a cam profile (53) joined to the first hinge element, a bearing piece (65) moveably mounted in the second hinge element according to an elastic translation axis, provided with a first contact area cooperating with the cam profile in order to provide the hinge with at least one stable position, and means for locking the hinge when the hinge is opened too far. According to the invention, the locking means comprise an excrescence (53-4) of the cam profile, said excrescence being embodied in such a way that it can cooperate with a second contact area (65-2) of the bearing part, exerting a force essentially on the bearing part, said force being substantially perpendicular to the translation axis thereof.
222 PROCEDE DE MONTAGE D'UNE CHARNIERE ELASTIQUE DE MONTURE DE LUNETTES ET CHARNIERE ELASTIQUE ADAPTEE POUR LA MISE EN OEUVRE DE CE PROCEDE EP01917399.6 2001-04-12 EP1272891B1 2003-11-12 DESBIEZ-PIAT, Christophe
The invention concerns a method for mounting a sprung joint for the frame of spectacles, comprising a step which consists in placing a spring (3) pin (1) in a first component (5) and a step which consists in articulating the first component (5) to a second component through a pivot pin enabling a bow of the frame, integral with one (5) of the components, to pivot relative to a surface of the frame integral with the other component. The invention is characterised in that it consists in: opening the first component (5) by elastic deformation, inserting the spring (3) pin (1) into the first component (5), and closing the latter (5) around the pin (1) so as to retain it by elastic pinching against the spring (3) compression. Preferably, the first component (5) is forcefully opened with the pin (1). The method enables to simplify mounting a spring joint wherein the pin (1) is permanently retained in the first component (5) even if the pivot pin is lost.

The invention concerns a sprung joint for spectacles frame comprising a stem (3) integral with a bow of the frame, arranged in a sleeve (5) and provided with a stem barrel (1), projecting outside the sleeve (5), and an elastic member (17) against whose compression the sleeve (5) moves in translation relative to the stem (3) and exerts pressure on a barrel (7) integral with a surface of the frame linked to the stem barrel (1) by an axis of rotation (A). The invention is characterised in that the joint comprises means (13) for reducing friction between the stem (3) and the sleeve (5) during their relative displacement in translation. Preferably, said means also constitutes means for reducing friction between the sleeve (5) and the surface barrel (7) during their relative displacement in rotation. In a first embodiment, the means comprise a socket (13) mounted around the stem and inserted in a housing (19) of the sleeve. In a second embodiment, said means comprise a coating at the surface of the stem (3), the sleeve (5) or the surface barrel (7).

A resilient hinge including a male frame knuckle (12) and a male side-arm knuckle (22) rotatably interconnected by a pin (30). The contact surface of one of the knuckles has a diametrically extending projection (24) with sloping sides for engaging a cross-shaped recess (18/19) in the other knuckle, which recess defines the open and closed positions of the side arm. The knuckles may be moved apart along the connecting pin counter to a resilient means (40, 42, 44).
