An apparatus for detecting the dart in a barrel of a toy gun is provided. The apparatus includes a dart sensor lever, a linkage, a transmission mechanism between the dart sensor lever and the linkage, and a pivot attached to the gun body. The dart sensor lever is linked with the pivot so that it will swing around the pivot. The transmission mechanism is linked with the linkage, which causes the linkage to move. Other modifications and features suitable for practice therewith, and methods and means of operating the device, are also disclosed. |

An extractor for the removal of cartridge cases from the chambers of a revolver is mounted adjacent the outer end of a tubular stem. The extractor is in the form of a plate having a plurality of radially extending arms equally spaced apart and defining, between each adjacent pair of the arms, a cylindrical surface which conforms with the inner cylindrical surface portion of one cartridge chamber of the revolver cylinder. The outer edge portion of each of the arms is generally a rectilinear edge and together define a rectangular shape having its geometric center aligned with the longitudinal axis of the stem. The revolver cylinder includes a recess in the rear surface of the cylinder which has a depth approximately equal to the thickness of the extractor plate and includes inner, rectilinear edge portions contiguous to and parallel with each of the outer edge portions of the extractor arms to limit rotation of the extractor plate relative to the axis of the cylinder. |

A device for loading revolvers from the front of the cylinder, a rotating cylinder in the revolver designed to releasably retain cartridges therein and to receive new loads from the loader and at the same time eject the empty casings. The rotating cylinder has a pivotal yoke and an arm extending laterally therefrom with a locking means for releasably maintaining the revolver cylinder in firing position on the frame. Guides are provided for aligning the cartridge chambers of the respective cylinders with each other. A loading cylinder abuts the revolver cylinder for reloading. A series of rams are provided which are movable against the reloading cartridges and which will contact the spent casings in the revolver cylinder and eject same. Casing retainers in the revolver cylinder will secure the reloads in place therein. A back plate mounted on the rear end face of the revolver cylinder maintains the holding means in the chambers in holding position. |

A hand gun has a cylinder, a chamber in the cylinder for holding a shell casing, an extractor rod extending through the cylinder adjacent the chamber, an extractor on an end of the extractor rod normally held in a closed position adjacent the chamber, and a return spring around the extractor rod for normally biasing the extractor into its closed position. The extractor normally can slide the casing entirely out of the chamber in response to travel of the extractor rod. A safety bushing is secured around a portion of the extractor rod, and the return spring is biased against the safety bushing. The safety bushing reduces the travel of the extractor rod which, in turn, limits the distance that the extractor can move the shell casing out of the chamber. The length of the safety bushing is sufficient to prevent the extractor from sliding the casing entirely out of the chamber, but sufficient to still allow the casing to be easily removed from the chamber, so that a casing cannot be jammed in the chamber by the extractor under the bias of the return spring after the extractor rod has been actuated. |
