An oral care implement, such as a toothbrush, comprising a flexible head formed of a plurality of flexibly connected segments. In one embodiment, the invention can be an oral care implement comprising a handle and a head. The head can be formed by a plurality of spaced-apart segments constructed of a rigid material and separated by a channel containing an elastomeric material. An elastomeric cleaning element comprising, a base portion and an upper portion extends form a front surface of the head. The elastomeric cleaning element extends from and is connected to the elastomeric material of the channel so that the base portion overlies a portion of each of the front surfaces of the segments on opposing sides of the channel. In another embodiment, the invention can be the elastomeric cleaning element itself, irrespective of the type of head in which it is incorporated. In yet another embodiment, the base portion can be tapered.

The present invention relates to a storage device for tooth cleaning attachments, in particular attachment brushes, of a tooth cleaning device, which can be coupled onto or uncoupled from a hand-held part of the tooth cleaning device, comprising a storage body for holding the tooth cleaning attachments to be stored. The invention further relates to a charging station for the tooth cleaning device comprising such a storage device. According to the invention, the storage body of the storage device has a storage base with at least one storage depression for receiving a tooth cleaning attachment in flat-lying alignment. As a result, any tight clamping and corresponding clamping means or positive retaining means such as mandrels and the like on the storage body can be dispensed with. Due to the flat-lying storage in conjunction with the storage depressions, stable positioning of the tooth cleaning attachments is nevertheless obtained. At the same time, the handling for the user is very much simpler since accurate threading-on is unnecessary. In addition, the storage base is substantially easier to clean than a retaining device with mandrels. |

Unitary, one-piece plastic molded micro-brushes are provided to remove the smear layer that remains in the root canal and access chamber after the pulp, bacteria, and related irritants have been mechanically and chemically removed from the root canal and access chamber using rotary cutting burs, files and various chemical reagents. The brushes include a handle, shaft or shank and a tapered brush section extending from the distal end of the shank. The brush section includes a plurality of bristles extending radially from a core. The bristles of the root canal brush can be formed in a reverse thread pattern. The brush section of the root canal brush has a diameter of between about 0.1 mm and about 0.2 mm at a tip end and a diameter of between about 0.5 mm and 3 mm at a coronal-most end. The brush section of the root canal brush is about 16 mm long, and has a taper of about 2% to about 12%. In the access chamber brush, the core can be formed as to be spherical, football-shaped, or tapered. The brushes are injection molded from an FDA approved resin.
