A hydraulic cut-off or throttling valve comprises a substantially cylindrical core body (25) formed of two layers (26 and 28 respectively) of resilient material with a mesh layer (27) therebetween. The body has axially extending outer surfaces and axially extending inner surfaces that form therewith a slit-like aperture. The mesh layer (27) functions to protect the inner layer (26) of resilient material from overexpansion due to excessive pressures to which it may be subjected, thus protecting it from tearing, without affecting its resiliency.

Le préformé d'élastomère comporte deux corps de base (11, 12) en gomme élastique dont les composants de base sont semblables ou différents, ainsi qu'une couche (16) de matériau imperméable au gaz, par exemple de l'alcool polyvinylique, insérée entre les deux corps. La liaison des deux corps de base (11, 12) avec la couche intermédiaire (16) est réalisée grâce à un liant (14, 15). Le préformé d'élastomère convient particulièrement bien aux appareils sous pression dans lesquels un liquide est séparé d'un gaz.

The flange portion and opening portion are formed with mating abutting portions for limiting the depth of insertion of the second shell into the first shell, and the flange portion of the second shell is formed with a plurality of notches extending from the outer periphery toward the center which are arranged circumferentially and spaced from one another; the opening portion of the first shell is provided with a plurality of projecting pawls for clamping the flange portion of the second shell via a pair of U-shaped lock members disposed adjacent to the outside of the flange portion; the pawls are aligned with the notches in the axial direction of the housing and made smaller than the notches; gaps are left between the inner periphery of the pair of lock members and the second shell and between the opposite ends of both lock members for permitting each lock member to slide a given extent; each lock member is formed with notches to cancel a locked relation of the lock member with the pawls as the lock member slides the given extent; and a stopper is incorporated for preventing sliding of the lock members in a normal state.
