Die Offenbarung betrifft eine Vakuumpumpe, vorzugsweise mit einem Saugvermögen unter 50 m3/h, mit einem Schraubenpumpenaggregat mit zwei schraubenförmigen, in gegenseitigem Eingriff stehenden Rotoren in einem Schöpfraum eines Schraubenpumpenstators, der eine Saugseite mit einem Einlass und eine Druckseite mit einem Auslass aufweist. Die Vakuumpumpe hat einen Zwei-Wellen-Synchronantrieb mit zwei magnetisierten, sich nicht berührenden Zylindern, die auf die Rotoren tragenden Rotorwellen befestigt sind. Die Rotorwellen sind infolge der gegenseitigen magnetischen Wechselwirkung der beiden Zylinder gegenläufig synchronisierbar. Die Vakuumpumpe hat einen oder mehrere, die beiden Zylinder umgebende Wicklungen eines Motorstators, durch deren Bestromung wandernde Magnetfelder erzeugbar und die beiden Zylinder und damit die Rotorwellen gegenläufig synchron drehbar sind. Die Lagerung der beiden Rotorwellen ist nur am Antrieb vorgesehen, es ist also keine Lagerung auf der vom Antrieb fernen Seite des Schöpfraums vorhanden.

Offenbarungsgemäß ist zwischen dem Antrieb und dem Schöpfraum ein einteiliges oder mehrteiliges Gehäuselagerschild und antriebsseitig ein einteiliges oder mehrteiliges Motorlagerschild angeordnet. Am Gehäuselagerschild sind Mittel zur Positionierung des Schraubenpumpenstators und Mittel zur Positionierung des Motorlagerschildes vorgesehen sind. Das Gehäuselagerschild ist so ausgelegt, dass zumindest ein Teil dieser Mittel gleichzeitig zur Positionierung des Schraubenpumpenstators und des Motorlagerschildes dient.
