41 Screw pump with field refurbishment provisions US13068622 2011-05-16 US08764424B2 2014-07-01 Timothy M. Kirkland
A screw pump (20) with field refurbishment provisions has screws (40), a base (26), and shafts (50) for the screws (40). The screws (40) have helical flights that intermesh during rotation, and extend between inner and outer ends (44 and 42). The shafts (50) extend between inner and outer ends (68 and 74), and are cantilevered from the base (26) from about the inner end (68) thereof. Each screw (40) is formed with a hollow core (80) for receiving its shaft (50) such that the screw (40) slips onto the respective shaft (50) therefor over the outer end (74) of its shaft (50). The screw pump further includes a keyless locking mechanism (56, 58, 96, or 98) intermediate each shaft (50) and screw (40), which is operative to rotationally lock the shaft (50) and screw (40) together without a key or keyway.

48 Oil pump anti-wear plate for transfer case and method of use US12077831 2008-03-20 US08024859B1 2011-09-27 Maura J. Stafford; Gregg A. Nader
A replacement oil pump plate for attachment to an original equipment manufacture oil pump within a transfer case for elimination of mechanical wear by replacing the abrasive aluminum tabs formed on the oil pump with low-friction plastic tabs is disclosed. The present plastic tab design redistributes the surface-to-surface contact between the magnesium transfer case and the aluminum pump tabs away from the original wear points so that any necessary weld repairs to the transfer case will not be disturbed. The present replacement pump plate is provided in a kit format including a pump plate, machine screws, plastic tabs, and installation instructions. The present invention also describes a method of installing the pump plate kit on the original equipment manufacture oil pump subassembly.

50 ROTARY LOBE PUMP WITH ANGULAR GEAR US12826821 2010-06-30 US20110052436A1 2011-03-03 PAUL KRAMPE; Heinrich Deyen
The invention relates to a rotary lobe pump for conveying solids-laden fluids engendered in agriculture, in which the conveyed fluid volume flow adapts itself to different operating modes. For improved self-priming, the rotary lobe pump is preferably designed for vertical mounting of the rotary lobes, wherein an angular gear is provided. The rotary lobes are mounted in a topside or underside cover, wherein the axes of the rotary lobes are vertically oriented. Using one of the covers, the rotary lobes can be vertically removed and maintained without having to dismantle other pump components from the pump housing. The rotary lobes can also be removed together with the angular gear as an integral pump component using one of the covers.

52 Method and apparatus for compressor re-manufacture US11283800 2005-11-22 US07338263B2 2008-03-04 Terence William Thomas Young
In a method of repairing a scroll compressor, the casing 100 of the compressor is cut open by making two transverse cuts through the casing to give access to the internal components of the compressor. The casing 100 is then resealed, using two annular reinforcing structures 300, one at each cut, to conserve the dimensions of the casing 100. This allows a scroll compressor to be repaired and re-assembled without losing the fine positioning of internal components which are held in place by the casing 100. Each annular reinforcing structure 300 comprises a ring 310 with an outwardly directed flange 305. The flange 305 has a thickness chosen to conserve the dimensions of the re-assembled casing while allowing single-pass welding and the ring 310 has a length which is chosen to provide at least location of the cut surfaces of the casing 100 during re-assembly and, optionally, shielding to prevent weld pool, slag or splatter entering the canister 100.

A method of repairing a scroll compressor, wherein the casing (100) of the compressor is cut open by making two transverse cuts through the casing to give access to the internal components of the compressor. The casing (100) is then resealed, using two annular reinforcing structures (300), one at each cut, to conserve the dimensions of the casing (100). This allows a scroll compressor to be repaired and re-assembled without losing the fine positioning of internal components which are held in place by the casing (100). Each annular reinforcing structure (300) comprises a ring (310) with an outwardly directed flange (305). The flange (305) has a thickness chosen to conserve the dimensions of the re-assembled casing while allowing single-pass welding and the ring (310) has a length which is chosen to provide at least location of the cut surfaces of the casing (100) during re-assembly and, optionally, shielding to prevent weld pool, slag or splatter entering the canister (100).
