The invention relates to a wall-mounted (2) support (1) for the roof tiles (3) of a roof structure which runs substantially at right angles to the wall (2). The invention aims to achieve an optimum introduction of the forces originating from the roof construction into the wall (2) and to enable the roof structure to incline in relation to the wall (2). To this end, the support (1) is configured as a bearing element (8), rigidly fixed to the wall (2), in which the roof tile (3) is secured by a clamping element (6) that is mounted in a pivotable manner.

A method for providing a roof structure (86) having a plurality of trusses (31) spaced apart from one another in a parallel arrangement is diclosed. The trusses each have a top portion (42). A support sheet (50) is payed out so that the support sheet depends from the top portions of adjacent trusses. Flexible insulation material (54) is applied above the support sheet so that the flexible insulation material is supported by the support sheet. Metal deck sheets (58, 92) are fastened to the top portion of the trusses, thereby forming a metal deck (59). A temporary waterproofing sealant (88, 96) is applied to the metal deck to protect the flexible insulation material, thereby creating a partially completed roof structure (40). Rigid insulation board (82) and a waterproofing membrane (84) are subsequently applied onto the metal deck, thereby forming a completed permanently sealed roof structure (86).

A safety device is disclosed for use in assisting in support of roofs of buildings. Use of the device avoids injury if part of a roof collapses, and the device is particularly suitable for use with roofs made from light-transmissive corrugated sheets or similar materials. The device has first (10) and second support members (20) for attachment to a pair of roof purlins (1-4), and one or more metal ropes (50A-50E) extend between the support members. In use, the ropes are typically held in tension between the first and second support members. |

148 | FREITRAGENDE ABDECKUNG FÜR BAUWERKE | EP94927504.4 | 1994-08-26 | EP0670940B1 | 1998-03-04 | Niemann, Horst |
The invention concerns a self-supporting convering for building constructions, in particular for rectangular basins in sewage-treatment plants, the covering being made up of shaped-section fibre-reinforced-plastic load-bearing elements (2, 3) of two types: main load-bearing elements which are spaced parallel to each other a certain distance apart and supported at their ends and secondary load-bearing elements which are arranged flush against each other to connect the main load-bearing elements together. In order to provide a rational, lightweight structure which requires the minimum amount of material, gives a high degree of manufacturing flexibility and is easy to store and transport, the covering is designed using, as the load-bearing elements, lengths of continously fabricated linear plastic extrusions with the reinforcement material oriented in the direction of extrusion.

A security enclosure comprises a flexible sheet (60) of insulating material extending over the whole of the area of the enclosure and carrying lines (62, 64) of electrically - responsive material on each side. The lines on one side of the sheet (60) extend obliquely relative to the lines on the other side of the sheet and are connected thereto at edge portions of the sheet to form a plurality of conductors so divid - ing the sheet into a number of relatively small areas so that attempted opening of the enclosure changes an electrical characteristic of the conductors. Con - nectors (70) are provided at an edge portion of the sheet (60) for individually connecting the conductors to a detector (88) for detecting the changes in the electrical characteristic of the lines (62, 64). The connectors (70) include a switch arrangement which is selectively configured to connect further connec - tors (72) associated with the detector (88) with se - lected conductors. One edge portion of the sheet includes a plurality of line switches (66a - d) which are selectively configured to connect each one of the lines (62a - d) on one side of the sheet with a selected one of a plurality of lines (64a - d) on the other side of the sheet. |
