The invention relates to a sewing installation for producing quilting seams in sewing material, in particular in textile supports for reclining furniture. The sewing installation has a base frame and a plurality of sewing heads (15) with in each case a sewing upper part (16) and an associated sewing lower part (17) for the formation of a corresponding plurality of quilting seams in the sewing material. The sewing heads (15) are each mounted on the base frame and designed for the formation of parallel quilting seams which extend along a common direction of sewing (N). The sewing heads (15) are designed to be displaceable independently of one another along a displacement direction (V) and perpendicular to the direction of sewing (N). This results in a sewing installation which allows a simple specification of product-specific distances of the quilting seams.
