PURPOSE: To enable stable weft-insertion by controlling an actuator based on a correction value obtained by the fuzzy inference performed, based on a weft- insertion operation information, in such a manner as to get weft-insertion parameters falling within preset target ranges. CONSTITUTION: Weft-insertion operation information outputted in the weft- insertion of a jet loom is outputted to an arithmetic operation unit. The information is, e.g. a reeling timing signal for the weft reeled from a metering and storing apparatus and an arrival timing signal showing the arrival of the weft to a prescribed position. The statistic of the reeling timing and the arrival timing is calculated by the arithmetic operation unit based on the output values of both timings, and the statistic is corrected by fuzzy inference based on the statistic in such a manner as to get the parameters such as the starting and finishing timings of the weft reeling, the fluid pressure of the main and sub- nozzles or the starting and finishing timings of the fluid ejection falling within respective preset target ranges. When a fabric including a plurality of woven parts constituted by a plurality of unit woven designs different in woven texture, weft constitution or weft density is woven, weaving process information is stored. The weaving process information includes a plurality of design weaving patterns which are set so as to correspond to the respective unit woven designs and so as to be independent of each other, information on the weaving process of one repeat of a fabric woven texture using each of the design weaving patterns, and information on a woven length which is set so as to be related to the weaving process. In each of the design weaving patterns, the drive mode of the weaving-associated device is set for each of weaving cycles constituting one repeat of loom cycles forming the unit woven design. In accordance with a process sequence set in the weaving process information, each of the design weaving patterns is read out, and the weaving-associated device is driven, thereby weaving the set woven length of the fabric.

SOLUTION: The number of revolutions of a main shaft 5 at the time of at least the initial beating is measured with a transmitter 6 by a loom control part 8 and the deviation of a measured value from the rated number of revolutions is detected to evaluate the measured value and store the evaluated measured value in a memory. The starting number of revolutions for starting operations is calculated so that the initial beating at the time of restarting the loom reaches the rated number of revolutions and a fly unit 3 is rotated and driven through a transmitting device 2 by a main driving device 1 comprising a pole changing type or a frequency control type motor under a command of the loom control part 8. When the number of revolutions thereof reaches the starting number of revolutions, the fly unit 3 is connected through a clutch- brake unit 4 to the main shaft 5 to start the loom.
