45 Machine for continuous twisting and cabling US286262 1988-12-19 US4905467A 1990-03-06 Carlos M. Gabalda
Machine for continuous twisting and cabling of filaments of the type including a predetermined number of work positions disposed on a common support frame (4), each work position including, taken in order according to the process of transformation of the filaments:a feeding and twisting section (1) for each of the elementary filaments, on each side of the machine;means (2) for the return and joining of a predetermined number of elementary filaments thus twisted and;a cabling and winding section (3);characterized in that the cabling and winding section (3) is common to the two feeding and twisting sections (1) and is constituted by spindles disposed side by side in the vertical plane of symmetry (AA) passing between the two feeding and twisting sections (1).

In each twisting unit of a multiple twisting apparatus, a two-for-one twisting assembly imparts a first twist to each component yarn while a ring twisting assembly imparts a second twist to .[.a.]. .Iadd.the .Iaddend.doubled first-twisted yarns. A plurality of first twisted yarns are doubled under tension control and the doubled yarn is taken up by a feed mechanism so as to be supplied to the ring twisting assembly under tension control via a yarn passage formed behind the two-for-one twisting assemblies. The two-for-one twisting assemblies are arranged in two alignments along a lengthwise direction of the apparatus. All driving members are driven synchronously at least at a starting period and at a time of stopping the twisting operation.
47 Twister US522126 1974-11-08 US3969884A 1976-07-20 Shu Inohara; Yasuyuki Nagamune
A twister adapted for the manufacture of cordage on which yarns are twisted in opposite directions in the continuous processes of plying and cabling, wherein the twisted yarns are finally wound on a bobbin under a constant stretching action irrespective of an increase in the outside diameter of the bobbin, thereby eliminating the necessity of doffing between the plying and the cabling processes.

49 Apparatus for the rolling or twisting of yarn or ribbon-like structures about their longitudinal axis US3686853D 1970-03-20 US3686853A 1972-08-29 RASMUSSEN OLE-BENDT; MADSEN WILLY BUCH; NIELSEN ARNE E
Textile structures, such as yarns or ribbons, are twisted or rolled by moving the rubbing surfaces of two rubbing rollers relative to one another transversely of the longitudinal direction of the structure passing therebetween, at least one of said rubbing rollers comprising a plurality of peripheral segments or sections which are successively engaged with the other rubbing roller and while so engaged are moved axially, i.e., transversely, of the feeding direction of the structure and are returned to their initial positions during the periods of non-engagement with the other rubbing roller.
