The scrubbing product (330) of the invention is a multi-layer laminate product and generally includes at least two distinct layers (332), an abrasive layer (334) and an absorbent fibrous layer such as a layer tissue made from papermaking fibers, a layer of coform, an airlaid web, or combinations thereof. The abrasive layer is formed primarily of polymeric fibers in a disordered or random distribution as is typical of fibers deposited in meltblown or spunbond processes so as to form an open, porous structure. In one embodiment, multiple layers of an abrasive structure are releasably attached together. In this manner, the top or outermost layer may be removed after being used in order to expose an unused abrasive structure located below the discarded layer.

The entire undersurface of the mat is provided with suction cups (18) which function to secure the mat firmly to a smooth undersurface. The mat also includes a foot-filing part (5) which includes a convex, dome-shaped filing element (6). The outer surface of the filing element has affixed thereto an abrasive agent such as abrasive paper or abrasive granules. The device also includes an arrangement of brushes by means of which the upper and bottom surfaces of a foot can be cleaned simultaneously, including between the toes, while leaving the hands free to soap the body or champoo the hair.
179 Wiper EP97202450.9 1997-08-07 EP0829201A1 1998-03-18 Luggar, Ricky; Tattingham, William

A wiper is disclosed comprising a mat 2 having bristles 6 extending from one side and straps 14,16 for fixing it, e.g. to the user or to an object.

The bristles are very effective for removing the soiling experienced by anglers. Affixing the mat to a limb, e.g. to the user's thigh, allows the angler to wipe one hand without the use of the other. Thus a rod or pole or a net can be held in one hand while the other is wiped.

180 DUAL TEXTURED IMPLEMENT FOR PERSONAL CLEANSING AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION EP95907371.0 1995-01-12 EP0751733A1 1997-01-08 GIRARDOT, Richard Michael; GROSGOGEAT, Eric Jean; BAUSCH, Richard Gottfried
A personal cleansing implement comprises a tubular piece of diamond-mesh scrim, which is stretched to expand the diamond mesh, gathered to form circumferential pleats, heat set in an expanded and pleated condition, and folded into a stack of layers to form a resilient batt (12). A softer layer of hydrophobic knitted material (20) lies against the top surface of the batt with its outer edge (24) wrapped around the perimeter (18) of the batt and against the bottom surface of the batt. The softer knitted layer is connected to the batt by a connecting means at the outer edge to form a dual textured cleansing implement made of hydrophobic materials and having high open area to enhance rinsing and drying. Thread stitching or thermobonding are the preferred connecting means. A tether loop (30) is connected to the implement for hanging it from a support during drying. The softer knitted layer preferably has at least one aperture therethrough.
