81 Multi-purpose drapery rod system US13385041 2012-01-30 US08479931B1 2013-07-09 Jeniece Mayhugh Richards; Clinton Henry Richards
Multi-purpose drapery rod system uses unique rod and bracket construction to provide superior platform for single and layered drapery. A single-drapery rod cooperates with bracket to attach to surfaces at nearly any angle to the rod. The single-drapery rod is easily converted to a Type 1 dual-drapery rod which layers accent drapery to the side and in front of primary drapery without a view-obstructing front rod, or to a Type 2 rod which layers fully-drawable primary drapery in front and to the sides of secondary drapery. Both types are easily converted to the other due to their modular construction, and both display drapery from the back, front, and along the sides by connecting the back and front with curved sections between them. System also includes a unique motorized assembly which easily mounts to a wall, connects to an existing traverse rod, and converts to a dual-drapery rod when desired.
82 Hook for suspending a curtain and a curtain with integrated hooks US12456662 2009-06-19 US20100319858A1 2010-12-23 David Freedland
The curtain is provided with integrated hooks for suspending the curtain from a curtain rod. Each hook is made of two parts that are secured together to sandwich a top margin of the curtain therebetween. Each hook has a rectilinear base and a curvilinear section that has a terminal section that defines a gap with the base and a portion extending angularly from the base. In one embodiment, the curvilinear section of the hook 10 is resiliently pliable in order to move laterally for passage over the curtain rod.
83 Curtain Rods and Brackets US12183209 2008-07-31 US20090032659A1 2009-02-05 Allan Goldstein
Apparatus for hanging curtains from wall brackets includes a hollow cylindrical rod with a longitudinal slot in its wall through which an interior clamping member for each wall bracket may be inserted. The clamping member is secured to a respective bracket by one or more screws which extend from outside of the rod to the clamping member captured within the rod. C-shaped rings mounted on the rod have openings to allow passage of the rings along the rod without coming into contact with the brackets. Each ring has a downward extending projection, e.g., a tab, which can be apertured to receive a hook, clip or other fastener attached to the curtains.

89 Composite pressure-cast bar US10747502 2003-12-30 US20050138770A1 2005-06-30 C. Chiou
A composite pressure-cast bar comprises a core of a foam material that is a mixture of a recycled material, such as wood power, and a polyvinyl chloride or polystyrol plastic material. The composite pressure-cast bar further includes an inner layer made of glass fibers and an outer layer of substantially solid material. The outer is a mixture of a recycled material, such as wood power, and a polyvinyl chloride or polystyrol plastic material. A wood-grained pattern can be thermal-printed on the outer surface of the outer layer for ornamental purposes. The composite pressure-cast bar thus formed has advantages of: being fireproof and waterproof, being firm enough to secure nails inserted therein, being environment-friendly and being of low production cost. The composite pressure-cast bar can be made in a variety of lengths, which significantly reduce material loss due to cutting.

93 Snap-in, snap-out curtain-supporting unit for windows US666265 1996-06-20 US5706878A 1998-01-13 Charles M. Guettler
A curtain-supporting unit of a snap-in, snap-out type comprising a plurality of rods interconnected to form a sturdy curtain-receiving framework, with the rods residing essentially in a coplanar relationship. This curtain-receiving framework is adapted to support a curtain and to be installed as an integral curtain-supporting unit on or adjacent the frame of a window. This novel framework is utilized in combination with an array of rod-receiving clips of resilient construction mounted in a spaced, substantially planar relationship adjacent the window frame, with the clip array defining a configuration closely approximating the configuration of the curtain-receiving framework. Each of the clips has an entrance portion of reduced size, enlarging into a portion configured to closely receive and retain a respective portion of a rod of the framework that has been thrust into the clip. Most significantly, this novel curtain-receiving framework is able to be installed in the clip array without occasioning the individual fitting of each respective rod portion onto a particular clip of the clip array. This curtain-receiving framework, when installed in the clip array, forms an arrangement for supporting the curtain in a desired relationship to the window, with the curtain-receiving framework being readily removable from the clips, on occasion, by a relatively simple withdrawal movement.
94 Universal socket for a finial and finial incorporating such a socket US414305 1995-03-31 US5670221A 1997-09-23 David K. Bried; James Daniels
A socket for mounting a finial on either of two telescoping tubular support rods includes a first engagement surface that enters into and contacts the smaller rod and a second engagement surface that surrounds and contacts the larger rod. The engagement surfaces wedge into an interference or force fit with the rod ends to maintain the finial on the rods. The surfaces are preferably defined by the side walls of an annular groove shaped to conform to the cross section of the support rod. The socket includes slots for mounting the finial on a holdback bracket. The slots are conveniently formed as widened regions of the annular groove and are positioned in diametrically opposed locations to permit top-to-bottom symmetrical finials to be inverted about a horizontal axis and front-to-back symmetrical finials to be inverted about a vertical axis for mounting on the left or the right side of a window opening.

97 Wraparound bathtub curtain rod US186146 1994-01-25 US5426821A 1995-06-27 Vincent R. Story
A shower curtain rod has curved ends branching from the straight body. A curtain hung therefrom is caused to follow a curved contour of a bathtub below. Tracks are provided on the inner and outer sides of the curtain rod so that inner and outer curtains may be suspended therefrom. The inner curtain follows the bathtub contour, and the outer curtain extends to both of two parallel walls defining the shower stall. Curtain fasteners are slidably held within the tracks. The fasteners are insertable when turned ninety degrees from their normal, vertical orientation, then turned so that fastener hooks face downwardly. The fasteners are thus positively retained by the curtain rod, while allowing the curtains to be opened and closed independently from one another.

99 Method for draping curtains US825217 1992-01-24 US5146972A 1992-09-15 William L. Tacchella
An improved method for draping curtains which allows one person to form a decorative window treatment without requiring any specialized skills or training. The method allows a curtain to be draped from a curtain rod of conventional configuration in a decorative manner about a window opening. The method uses hook and loop type fastening means to secure the curtain fabric to the curtain rod and thereby prevents the curtain from sagging at the top. Simple curtain rings are placed over the ends of the depending curtain fabric and then installed on the curtain rod near its ends to allow a portion of the curtain to form a decorative downwardly curved arc of fabric. The newly formed arc is then "dressed" or folded into pleats to complete the decorative window treatment. The improved method is also shown applied to a bay window treatment. An alternate embodiment is shown with the draped end portion of the curtain fabric looped and fastened to the curtain rod to allow a decorative puff to be formed in the looped fabric adjacent the curtain rings.
100 Drape construction US696744 1991-05-07 US5123475A 1992-06-23 Robert E. Klotz; Martha M. Oliver
Disclosed is a shirr-pleated drape and the method of manufacturing the drape. An elongated stiffened fabric strip, preferably crinoline which may be precut to size, is formed with evenly-spaced drapery hook pockets. The drape is provided with a longitudinal rod pocket along the top of a size to accommodate said fabric strip. The drape is gathered on said fabric strip and then attached to said fabric strip at said drapery hook pockets and at the ends of said rod pocket to retain said gathered drape on said fabric strip. When mounted on a rod such as a traverse rod, said drape has the appearance of being shirred when closed, and of being shirred and pleated when open.
