The invention relates to a hot-melt-type adhesive, comprising A) 20 - 95 wt. % of at least one sugar alcohol and B) 5 - 80 wt. % of at least one water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer. The inventive adhesive is water-soluble and is used to glue materials together, said materials being able to be recycled and/or used several times. Said hot-melt-type adhesive is used particularly for gluing materials containing cellulose, for example, a cardboard cover, and is used in the production of multi-layered glued papers, e.g. envelopes, tissues, and is used in book bindings and for stickers. The inventive hot-melt-type adhesive is characterised in that can be easily biologically decomposed and after storing at a temperature of 180 °C over a three hour period has a colour index according to Gardner of less than or equal to 10.

Paper size contg. a ketene dimer (I), a polysaccharide (II) and an emulsifier (III) consists of a dry mixt. of a different types of separate particles, one type consisting of (i) and the other of (II) in which (III) is incorporated or present on the surface. It is produced by spraying (II) particles with (III), so that this is absorbed, then mixing with (I) particles. It is used for pulp and surface sizing. The use of a dry mixt. eliminates the need for transporting the emulsion over long distances or for careful measuring of the individual components before use and also prevents premature reaction between (I) and (II) or (III), which would greatly reduce the sizing capacity of (I). The dry mixt. is stable for long periods and can be emulsified easily.

An emulsion composition which has a heightened sulfo group content and, despite this, retains sufficient water resistance and which is improved in functions such as low resistance and film-forming properties. The emulsion composition comprises (A) an aqueous solvent, (B) an organic solvent, (C) a sulfo-containing polymer soluble in the ingredient (A), and (D) a polymer which is soluble in the ingredient (B) but insoluble in water. This emulsion composition is improved in the function of attaining low resistance and further has sufficient water resistance and film- forming properties. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007

The present invention provides an emulsion composition which has been increased in sulfonic group content, yet has sufficient water resistance and has been enhanced in properties such as small resistance, film-forming property, etc. The emulsion composition contains (A) a water-based solvent, (B) an organic solvent, (C) a sulfonic group-containing polymer soluble in the component (A), and (D) a polymer soluble in the component (B) but insoluble in water. This emulsion composition is enhanced in small resistance and yet has sufficient water resistance and film-forming property. |
