SOLUTION: The inkjet recording metal chelate pigment is composed of a water-soluble azo metal chelate compound formed from an azo based compound having one or more hydrophilic groups in the molecule which is represented by formula (1) (wherein an X1 -containing heterocycle is a triazole ring, or the like; and Ar1 is a naphthyl group having a chelating group) and a metallic element. The aqueous inkjet recording liquid contains an aqueous medium and this metal chelate pigment. The inkjet recording method uses this recording liquid.
