A bed comprising a second connecting member (9), and a second base bar (11) which swingably supports a bed frame body having a first panel (4) and a second panel (5) in a manner to make a height of the bed frame body from a floor surface adjustable. Pivots (11A, 11B) and sliding portions (4A, 5A) are connected to each other by means of first and second swing shafts (12, 13) so that, when the first panel (4) and the second panel (5) are made most upright, the bed frame body (1A) and the second base bar (11) are positioned with an upper surface of the second connecting member (9) above an upper surface of the second base bar (11).

A protective jacket for use in a method of framing a picture. The jacket is designed to fit within the existing frame of the picture, allowing the picture to be viewed under near optimal conditions whilst affording protection against fire or impact damage. The jacket comprises a fire-resistant laminated glazing material for viewing the picture and a metal sub-frame for providing impact resistance. The jacket may also be air-tight or water-tight.

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Aufhängungssystem für Gemälderahmen (1) und andere im wesentlichen plattenförmige Gegenstände. Wesentlich für das erfindungsgemäße Aufhängungssystem ist, daß mindestens eine vorzugsweise mindestens in jeder Ecke des Rahmens (1) mindestens eine am Rahmen (1) fest angebrachte Aufhängeschiene (2) vorgesehen ist, daß die Aufhängeschiene (2) ihrerseits mindestens einen Befestigungspunkt (3), vorzugsweise in Form einer Gewindebohrung, aufweist, über den eine Tragschiene (4) an der Aufhängeschiene (2) befestigbar ist, daß die Länge der Tragschiene (4) so bemessen ist, daß die an der Aufhängeschiene (2) befestigte Tragschiene (4) den Rahmen (1) seitlich oder nach oben oder unten mit einem Befestigungsabschnitt (5) mit mindestens einem Befestigungspunkt zur Befestigung an einem Rahmenträger versehen ist.

A frame (10) adapted for use on a photograph (11) including a flexible conformable sheet (12) having length and width dimensions exceeding the length and width dimensions of the photograph (11) by at least 12.7 millimeter (0.5 inch), a generally centrally located viewing opening (18) having a size and shape adapted to afford viewing of a central portion of the photograph (11) with edge portions of the photograph (11) around the central portion extending along the rear surface (15) of the sheet (12); and a layer (20) of adhesive along the rear surface (15) of the sheet (12), the adhesive affording firm adhesion and conformance of the sheet (12) to the edge portions of the photograph (11) to hold the photograph (11) against the sheet (12) and adhesion of the sheet (12) around the photograph (11) to a smooth firm surface (22) to thereby support the photograph (11) and frame (10) along the surface (22), while being removable form the surface (22) and portion of the photograph (11) without damage thereto. The surface (22) to which the frame (10) and photograph (11) are adhered could be that of a wall, refrigerator, etc., or that of a special greeting card (30) used in combination with the frame (10).

The mounting, framing and display device comprises a mounting board 10 and a cover member 20.

The mounting board 10 is a double skin laminated foam filled mounting board incorporating aluminium foil or fibre glass skins on both sides of the foam material. The cover member 20 is formed of an acrylic or similar plastics material, preferably a non-glare grade material.

The mounting board 10 is provided with edges 12 formed at an angle of forty five degrees or any chosen angle and the cover member 20 has tongues 22 of a corresponding angle so that the mounting board 10 and cover member 20 may be secured together. The matter to be displayed, e.g. poster, photograph, notice, etc. is sandwiched between the mounting board 10 and the cover member 20.

An artwork assembly 30 comprises a frame 35 defining an opening; an artwork 42 located within the frame and spaced from at least one side of the frame so that there is a gap between the artwork and that side of the frame, and mounting devices 10 extending from the frame to the artwork so as to span the gap between the artwork and the frame, thereby to mount the artwork within the frame.

A picture such as a photographic print is formed to a concave/convex configuration for aesthetic reasons by fixing the flat print to a flat sheet metal mount with an interposed adhesive, the sheet metal having a central hole, and the assembly then being press formed to provide the curvature. The central hole avoids an unsatisfactory result due to the formation of air bubbles in the adhesive.

Der aus mehreren Rahmenprofilstücken lösbar zusammengesetzte Aufspannrahmen dient dazu, flächenhafte, insbesondere photo­graphische Reproduktionen auf Papier, Film oder textilem Material im Rahmen mittels Spannfedern glatt aufzuhängen. Jedes Rahmenprofilstück hat eine mindestens teilweise kreis­bogenförmige Schmalseite (1) und eine daran anschliessende, dazu senkrechte ebene Breitseite (2). Die Innenfläche der Breitseite (2) ist mit einem Profilteil (5) versehen, der sich in Längsrichtung der Breitseite (2) erstreckt und in der Querrichtung der Breitseite (2) offen ist. Darin können die Spannfedern (6), die an den Rändern der Reproduktion (7) mittels Oesen (8) befestigt sind, direkt eingehängt und längs des Profilteils (5) verschoben werden. Dadurch ist es möglich, die Reproduktion über die Breitseite (2) und die Schmalseite (1) zur Rückseite des Profilrahmen­stücks zu legen und dort mittels der eingehängten Spann­federn (9) glatt zu spannen, so dass die Aufspannung der Reproduktion (7) "randlos" ist.

Der Halter dient zum Festlegen von blattförmigem Bildgut zwischen einer Rückwand (1) und einer klarsichtigen Frontscheibe, die zur Frontseite hin zusammen mit dem Bildgut auswechselbar ist. Die Rückwand (1) ist mit einem um das eingelegte Bildgut und die Frontscheibe umlaufenden, zur Frontseite vorspringenden Rahmen (2) einstückig ausgebildet. An gegenüberliegenden Rahmenseiten (3, 4) angeordnete Rahmenabschnitte tragen jeweils wenigstens einen Halteansatz (5, 6) und sind jeweils durch eine dem Halteansatz benachbarte Durchgangsöffnung (12, 13) freigeschnitten, von denen jeweils eine mit einem Halteansatz ausgerichtet ist und eine Pläche in der Rückwand (1) freilegt, die größer als die Parallelprojektion des vorspringenden Halteansatzes ist. Eine (13) der Durchgangsöffnungen ist so geformt, daß sie vom Benutzer mit einer Fingerkuppe durchgriffen werden kann, um beim Bikiwechsel das Bildgut und die Frontscheibe auszuheben. Die Durchgangsöffnung (13) ist durch Schlitze (11) so weit verlängen, daß der ihr benachbarte Rahmenabschnitt (4) zum Auswechseln des Bildguts leicht verformt werden kann und elastisch in seine Ursprungslage zurückkehrt.
