In making a change from a first state in which an electric charge is being transferred from a secondary power source of large capacity to an auxiliary capacitor through a voltage step-up/down circuit with a step-up/down ratio M' (which is a positive real number other than 1) to a second state in which the secondary power source of large capacity and the auxiliary capacitor are directly electrically connected to each other, the electric energy is transferred from the secondary power source of large capacity to the auxiliary capacitor through the step-up/down circuit in a non-step-up/down state with a step-up/down ratio M = 1, so that the potential difference between the secondary power source of large capacity and the auxiliary capacitor is less than a predetermined potential difference. Therefore, there is no possibility of incurring a sharp power source voltage variation due to a change in step-up ratio, so that malfunction of the electronic apparatus that accompanies a sharp voltage variation of the voltage source can be prevented.

118 ELECTRONIC TIMEPIECE EP97937850 1997-08-29 EP0860757A4 2000-01-12 MURAKAMI TOMOMI; ICHIKAWA MASAKAZU; MIYAUCHI NORIO

120 PACE MEASURING APPARATUS, ELECTRONIC APPLIANCE AND PACE MEASURING METHOD EP96935371 1996-10-18 EP0805414A4 1999-06-02 AYAKAWA MOTOMU; NAKAMURA CHIAKI
In order to be able to accurately measure pitch both during running and walking, the invention focuses on the fact that the second harmonic of the body movement can be detected at a high level during running and that the third harmonic of the body movement can be detected at a high level during walking, and is designed to be able to calculate pitch regardless of whether or not the user is running or walking, by using a high-level line spectrum appearing in the area that is at or above 100 times/minute, for example, as the reference wave, and by determining whether this reference wave is the second or third harmonic. Whether the reference wave is the second or third harmonic can be determined based on whether or not a high-level signal is present near a frequency that is 1/3 or 2/3 of the frequency of the reference wave, for example; and pitch can be calculated by determining that the reference wave is the second harmonic if no high-level signal is present in the above frequency band.
