PURPOSE: To simplify starting operation of duration display by folding and holding a bellows part in the vicinity of an open end of main vessel in which a substance to be dyed is stored, by closing off a hole provided to a sub-vessel which seals and stored, dyeing substance at a place lower than the bellows part, and by fixing together the main and sub-vessels at their top ends.
CONSTITUTION: The duration displaying body of this invention consists of a cylindrical main vessel 2 storing a substance to be dyed, and a cylindrical sub- vessel 3 which is inserted and engaged into an open end of the main vessel 2, and stores and seals a dyeing substance. In the vicinity of the open end of main vessel 2, a bellows part 6 is folded and held, and a hole 4,4' provided to the sub-vessel 3 is closed off by a barrel wall 5 placed below the bellow part 6. The main vessel 2 and the sub-vessel 3 are fixed together at their top ends. When in use, the bellows part 6 of the main vessel 2 is extended, then the hole 4,4' is released for the dyeing substance to proceed to the side of substance to be dyed and therewith display of duration is commenced by contact of the both substances. In this way, operation to start display can be simplified.

PURPOSE: To allow the distinct discrimination of an end point by holding an org. mixture composed of an electron donative colorable org. compd., a compd. contg. a phenolic hydroxyl group and an org. compd. which is liquid at ordinary temp. on a base material partially applied with a cationic high-polymer compd.
CONSTITUTION: A dye is not particularly limited if the dye is the electron donative colorable org. compd., for which, for example, crystal violet lactone, etc., are used. The amt. of the dye to be used is so properly determined that the part changed in the color tone intrinsic to the indicator and the part not changed therein are distinct. The org. compd. having the phenolic hydroxyl group is exemplified by monophenols, for example, tert-butiphenol, etc., are used. The amt. thereof is selected from a range of about 0.1 to 50 times the electron donative colorable org. compd. 1. For example, nonyl alcohol, etc., are used as the org. which has 150 to 450°C b. p. under atm. pressure and is liquid at ordinary temp. The amt. of this compd. to be used is selected to meet the effective life of the product to which the compd. is applied. The time indicator is produced by dropping the above-mentioned electron donative colorable org. compd., etc., onto the base material on which characters, etc., are previously printed by the cationic high-polymer compd.

PURPOSE: To allow the easy recognition of the lapse of time from a change in color by housing the laminate of a volatile liquid holding layer which contains a volatile liquid to exhibit high light transparency into a container having a freely openable/closable aperture and evaporating the liquid.
CONSTITUTION: This device is constituted of the laminate 3 formed by laminating the volatile liquid holding layer 2 on an opaque base layer, the aperture 4 which evaporates the volatile liquid from the volatile liquid holding layer 2 at the controlled speed and a door 5 for starting the evaporation of the volatile liquid. This volatile liquid holding layer 2 has the property to irregularly reflect at least the external light on the surface thereof at the time of the layer 2 not contain volatile liquid and has the property that the transparency of light increases and the color of the opaque base layer 1 is visible at least partly through this layer once the volatile liquid holding layer contains liquid. A user is allowed to visually recognize the lapse of the time from the start of the evaporation of the volatile liquid on the volatile liquid holding layer 2 before the volatile liquid is substantially absent (dried) in the volatile liquid holding layer 2 as a change in the color of the indicating surface.

PURPOSE: To provide the period lapse display body which is capable of indicating the period to about one year by adding a diffusion delaying agent which is hardly affected by light, humidity, etc., and delays the diffusion of a dyeing material into an agar gel.
CONSTITUTION: A sealing material 3 of the agar gel added with carrageenin as the diffusion delaying agent is packed into a body 1 and a basic dye 4 for coloring the sealing material 3 is packed into a cap body 2. A user starts display by cutting the body 1 at a cutting line 6, removing the hermetic cap of the cap body 2 and coupling both at the time of starting the period display. The dyeing material 4 of the cap body 2 diffuses into the sealing material of the body 1 and the body 1 appears as if said body is colored successively and therefore, the termination of the period is displayed from the degree of the progression of the coloring.

PURPOSE: To accurately judge the presence of the effective component of a drug by direct visual observation, by judging the presence of the medicinal effect component by the display of the dye directly reacting with the volatile medicinal effect component to discolor.
CONSTITUTION: The presence of a medicinal effect component is judged by the display of the dye directly reacting the volatile medicinal effective component to discolor and, when a drug is volatilized and the medicinal effect component is lost, the dye returns to the initial hue and the exhaustion of medicinal effect can be confirmed. That is, an oxidation inhibitor, an alkaline substance and the dye reversibly changing a color through the reaction with the volatile drug are allowed to coexist and, if necessary, an ultraviolet absorber is added to the base material. As the volatile drug, there is an org. phosphorus insecticide such as Acephate and, as the dye, there is a titration indicator such as alizarin red S. The alkaline substance is added to these substances to make the indicator acidic near to neutral before use. With respect to oxygen in air, a reducing agent such as monophenol is used as the oxidation inhibitor and, with respect to ultraviolet rays, an ultraviolet ray cutting filter is used or the ultraviolet absorber such as phenylsalicylate is used.

PURPOSE: To obtain the title device which can be corrected in a decrease in the moving speed of a dyeing substance during its diffusion, by localizing a specified dyeing substance in part of a highly viscous liquid or a gel-like substance having a concentration gradient and packed in a container.
CONSTITUTION: The body 1 which is a transparent or light-color container (e.g., PE tube) through the wall of which the contents can be seen from the outside is filled with a developing medium 3 which is a highly viscous liquid or a gel-like substance (e.g., agar) having a concentration gradient equivalent to the reciprocal of the diffusion equation of the formula [wherein J is the diffusion rate (mol./cm
2), D is the diffusion coefficient (cm
2/sec), C is the concentration (mol./cm
2), and X is the distance (cm)]. Separately, a cover 2 is filled with a dyeing substance 4 (e.g., aqueous solution of Methylene Blue) which can color or discolor the developing medium 3. After the body 1 is cut along a dotted line 6 and the sealing cap 5 is removed from the cover 2, the body 1 is combined with the cover 2 at the start of indication of the period of time in order to indicate the term of validity of a product such as an insecticide, a fragrance or a deodorant, whereupon the dyeing substance 4 diffuses into the developing medium 3 with the laps of time.

PURPOSE: To improve adhesiveness without impairing discoloration-time control capacity, by using a polymer obtained by polymerizing a polyfunctional vinyl monomer with an acrylic ester monomer as a discoloration-time control layer.
CONSTITUTION: A discoloration-time control layer is obtained by applying a crosslinkable acrylic emulsion obtained by polymerizing a (meth)acrylic ester monomer and a polyfunctional vinyl monomer as essential components and drying the same. Concretely, this discoloration-time control layer is provided between the A-layer containing a microcapsule of an oily substance and B-layer containing a substance generating discoloration upon the contact with the component in the microcapsule provided on a support. As mentioned above, by using the polymer obtained by copolymerizing the acrylic ester monomer and the polyfunctional monomer, adhesiveness can be improved without impairing discoloration-time control capacity.
