CONSTITUTION: A prenventing agent and remedy containing a quinone of the formula (n is an integer 1W4) as an active constituent. The compound of the formula is capable of strongly inhibiting the production and release of SRS-A (a slow-reacting substance of anaphylaxis) which is a kind of a chemical transmitting substance produced and released locally in the living body as a result of th antigen-antibody reaction, and is useful as an inhibitor against SRS-A. The agent is effective against allergic diseases, e.g. bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis or urticaria, caused by SRS-A or ischemic diseases, inflammation, etc. caused by the SRS-A. The agent is administered in a daily dose of about 0.1W10mg/kg for adult orally or parenterally.
