CONSTITUTION: A heavy liq. extracting overflow pipe 5 with the upper end opened is inserted into an extraction-separation vessel in the form of a vertical long vessel, the lower end of the pipe 5 is connected to a high-pressure constant rate pump 8 on the outside of the vessel 3, and the interface between the light liq. phase and the heavy liq. phase is kept in the vicinity of the upper end of the pipe 5 by a heavy liq. phase extracting line 6 connected to a pressure control valve 9. Consequntly, the interface between the light liq. phase and the heavy liq. phase is stably kept constant even with the simple structure, when a gas almost in a critical state is used to separate an org. liq. solute from an aq. org. soln. or a mixture of org. liqs.
