CONSTITUTION: An amino compd. such as urea or melamine alone or a mixt. thereof is compounded and reacted with a formaldehyde such as formalin or paraformaldehyde in a predetermined mol ratio after adjusting pH from neutral to alkaline, to obtain a liquid amino resin. A base material such as pulp or asbestos is impregnated with 35W80wt% (based on said base material) said liquid amino resin and dried by heating to 70W95°C, to obtain a dried product. Separately, the liquid amino resin is dehydrated by evacuation to obtain a solid amino resin, which is further crushed to obtain a powdered amino resin. Then said powdered amino resin in an amt. such that the base material is contained in a given amt. is added to said dried product, which is mixed with an additionally added curing agent, releaser, filler, colorant, etc. followed by crushing and screening, to obtain an amino resin molding compound.
