Since a dichroic mirror 20 for reflecting the light of a near infrared ray area and transmitting the light of a remote infrared ray area is disposed substantially at the intermediate position of the mutually confronted detecting elements 21, 22, the photodetecting element 22 views the same visual field as the infrared ray detecting element 21. Accordingly, a part where the solar light irradiates and a part where the solar light does not irradiate can be discriminated by the photodetecting element 22. Thereby, the probability of the erroneous counting for the human body according to the irradiation of the solar light can be reduced.
