The impact sound of a suction valve passes through said cylinders 17A and 17B and the suction hole of a frame 6 first, propagates to and is diffused in the closed space formed of the lower face of a motor body 4 and said frame 6, and further progagates to and is diffused in a motor cover 25 through the narrow passage between an air cap and the refrigerant suction hole 11a of a rotor 11. The low-frequency sound particularly difficult to reduce is reduced by the resonator 30 having a resonating hole 29 of a resonating chamber 28. Thus, the noise of suction system can be reduced.
