CONSTITUTION: The current I of a main circuit is detected by a current transformer 1 and changed into a detected voltage E by a current-voltage converter 2. The detected voltage E is applied to a voltage-frequency converter 5 and a comparator 3 for setting a current level. A set voltage Es set by a level setting circuit 4 is applied to the comparator 3 together with the detected voltage E. The output of the comparator is applied to the updown input of an updown counter 7. The output frequency 5 of the voltage-frequency converter 5 is applied to the clock input of the updown counter 7 through a shaping circuit 6 such as a Schmidt trigger. The output count (NC) of the updown counter 7 is entered into a count setting circuit 8 together with a set input count (NS) to produce the circuit-breaking signal TS.
