The relation between the variables of a system is treated as a black box and a signal for testing is generated by a computer to vary operation variables by the signal and measure the fluctuation of the variable whereby a self-regression matrix is obtained. The relations between multiple variables in a system are determined by the measurement of the system and the optimum control may be effected. A control system is provided with an analog PID control system and an AR model control system, therefore, the control of a plant can be succeeded by the analog PID control system even when a trouble is caused in the computer and, accordingly, the stability and reliability of this method are high enough.
