The reflected light reflected at nearby end (end a) of the optical fiber 100 preserves polarization, then the light is eliminated by the polarization beam splitter 11 and does not enter the photodetective element 31. However, the light reflected at a remote end (end b) of the optical fiber 100 and the signal light from a station B are subject to be in non-polarized state because they are propagated in the optical fiber and led to the photodetector 31 in an optical reception circuit 30 through the beam splitter 11.
