CONSTITUTION: When encapsulating both ends of light emitting tube 100 such as high pressure sodium lamp with heat resistant cap 102 through glass solder 103, a plurality of light emitting tubes 100 are arranged in enclosed container 3 comprised of cover 5 and body 4, while planar heating member 19 is supported in the proximity of upper end of heat-resistant cap 102 and a reflector board 23 is provided around it. Consequently when evacuating the container 3 through exhaust port 24 then applying voltage on the electrode 18 to heat the heating member 19 thus to joint between the cap 102 and glass solder 103 by means of the radiating heat, simultaneous thermal processing is achieved resulting in uniform heating.
