A choke coil stabilizer 7 of 4.1W5.5A of shorting current is connected in series with the light emitting tube 2, in which an electrode rod 11 of diameter D having 5.5W14A/mm with respect to the shorting current,and an electrode 10 of coil 12 having 1.8W4.0A/mm with respect to the shorting current with outer diameter d around the rod 11 to project the end of the rod 11 are provided at both the ends thereof. Thus, it can improve the life characteristics and exactly start the lamp with the kick voltage of lower than 4kV generated.
