CONSTITUTION: When radiant ray enters the scintillator 1, the scintillator emits light. The light enters a light transmissible substance such as CdS, ZnO or the like passing through a conductive transparent electrode layer 21 of the light amplifier 2. Thereupon, an amplified light is produced from an electroluminescence substance layer 23 and enters a photodiode 3 through a conductive transparent electrode layer 24. Thus, it is picked up as an electric signal with the electrodes 31 and 32. At this point, an AC voltage is applied between the electrode layers. Combined with a photodiode 3 larger in the drak current used as the light detector, light amplification by the light amplifier is effective for the improved S/N.
