CONSTITUTION: When performing the speed control of motor M through the thyristor chopper circuit CH, main thyristor MTh for conducting the motor current is connected in series with the primary winding N1 of saturable reactor current transformer SCT while the secondary winding N2 is connected in series with the commutating capacitor CO while furthermore the tertiary winding N3 is provided in the circuit formed with the load and the flywheel diode DF and connected with opposite polarity with that of the primary winding N1. Consequently the motor current flows through the tertial winding N 3 with the opposite polarity with that of the primary winding N1 to increase the voltage of the commutating capacitor CO, thereby the capacity of the commutating capacitor needs not to increase even for the power source having considerable voltage variation resulting in the miniatulization.
