CONSTITUTION:Fe can be introduced into a high purity ZnSe powder with purity of sisc 9 or more in an arbitrary concn. by applying a high temp. and high pressure (HIP) treatment to a stock material which is prepared by adding a ferric fluoride (FeF3) powder to the ZnSe powder in a concn. range of several ppm - several 1,000ppm for 1-5hr at 900-1,200 deg.C under pressure of 1,000-2,000kg/cm to obtain a reference specimen optimum to the quantitative analysis of Fe. Because the reference specimen containing Fe in an arbitrary concn. within a concn. range of several ppm - several 1,000ppm can be prepared because the amount to be added of FeF3 can be determined and, because Fe can be homogenously introduced into ZnSe by HIP treatment, there is no concn. irregularity of Fe in the reference specimen at all and a calibration curve with high reliability can be formed by using several kinds of the reference specimens having an arbitrary amount of Fe added thereto.
