The engine 4 chooses only one rule out of the assembly 10 and carries out the operation described at an executing part 9 of the rule and at the same time updates the contents of the WM 5 as necessary. The execution of the knowledge system is through when the contents of the WM 5 are unable to satisfy the conditions of all rules after repetition of preceding operations. Thus it is possible to prevent the collation of conditions to all rules in terms of 100% retrieval.
