CONSTITUTION: The camera 9 for virtual image detection is arranged adjacently to a slit light generating device 3 while set in the same direction of the slit light irradiation direction at all times. Image data corresponding to an image picked up by the camera 9 for virtual image detection is inputted to the virtual image generation detector 11, it is judged that a virtual image II is generated unless the image is linear, and a virtual image position computing element 12 calculates the position where the virtual image II is generated. The coordinates of the virtual image II are included in the three-dimensional coordinates of the object 2 of measurement which is measured by a camera 4 for shape recognition, an image fetch device 6, and a coordinate computing element 7. Then a virtual image removing device 13 removes the coordinates of the virtual image II from the three-dimensional coordinates including the virtual image II to obtain the coordinates of only the virtual image I. Consequently, the accurate three-dimensional shape which does not include the virtual image II can be recognized.
