The timing controller 7 detects a trailing edge of a frequency control timing adjustment signal (a) from 'H' to 'L' and outputs a signal (e) outputting a frequency control signal (f) to a latch circuit 5 upon the notice of the end of the reception of an external electronic device and in the state of halt. Upon the receipt of the signal (e), the latch circuit 5 outputs the frequency control signal (f) to a piezoelectric oscillation circuit 11 to control the oscillating frequency to be stable against temperature. Thus, adverse effect of FM noise and PM noise caused when the frequency is controlled is evaded.
