CONSTITUTION: A carbon or graphite film is formed on the periphery of a lead consisting mainly of (A) graphite and clay or carbon or (B) carbon black and wax by ion or chemical vapor-phase plating. The ion plating is carried out by ionizing vaporized particles, e.g. graphite or carbon black, with glow discharge, and by depositing the ionized particles accelerted with a d.c. high voltage applied on the negative pole lead firmly. The chemical vapor deposition is carried out by depositing carbon or graphite on the periphery of the lead heated at a high temperature according to the decomposition and polymerization of a hydrocarbon, e.g. acetylene or propane, in its atmosphere.
